Books2Movies Club discussion

The History of the Hobbit by John D. Rateliff is a mammoth book, however very well researched and apparently highly recommended by many critics and Tolkien fans, so we should at least try to read it or use it as a reference material. Regard this book as an optional companion book to The Hobbit. The latter one is the book we should all read for this project.

I wouldn't worry about time limits here. Simply read it whenever it fits you, or not at all :) Those of you who will give this book a try, freely share below your thoughts and impressions as you read :)

Started reading this. It is already very interesting, but I can see why people say it'll take time. The book is not something you can focus on for a long, so I'll probably read it bit by bit, in pauses between reading other books.
