Ed | 1 comments How many hours a day do you read? Does it depend on the day? And where do you like to read? Anywhere? Or a great chair, in bed, outside?

In the garden, in the bath and mostly in bed after my wife have watched TV programmes.

Usually read and hour or two a day.

Barry Becker | 16 comments In my novel, the protagonist, Mark Ericksen, suffered PTSD in Afghanistan while serving as a Navy SEAL Team-Six platoon leader. After several years as a defense contractor, he joined a biometrics company in Oregon. Once the CIA received actionable intelligence about a major terrorist mastermind's plan aided by Russian arms dealers to attack two American cities with nuclear suitcase bombs, they task Ericksen with sabotaging the sleeper cell operation.

The major challenges a writer face is placing the protagonist in a dangerous situation and attempting to create a plausible path of escape from death during the story. Whether it is Mitch Rapp, Scott Harvath, Gabriel Allon, or other major protagonists, one of the primary concerns readers enjoy and sweat in every new novel is the challenges the hero faces in surviving and accomplishing their goals. Do you agree with that observation?
I am running a Giveaway with The Ericksen Connection starting October 5 -October 15. I previously ran one three months ago, but the Kindle eBook formatting wasn't done correctly. I'm happy to announce that this has been corrected. If you would like to read a sample (6 chapters), please go to my website www.barrylbeckerauthor.com. Looking forward to your comments. Best wishes, Barry L. Becker

Gretchen | 134 comments Try to read every day. Bed or couch. I am trying to read my remaining physical books but need light to do that but then I fall asleep.

Barbara I read every day.
With thrillers, lately I am finding that I either give up or skim through the last part. My idea thriller builds my interest and around 2/3 way through it becomes unable to put down. But many of the books I've picked up recently - reviewed some - are billed as thrillers but are a drag. Don't know why.

Michael (fisher_of_men) | 104 comments I try to read whenever I have a moment of two, but the goal is to set aside an hour a day to really plow through a book. Some days it actually happens!

Kandice | 2061 comments I have an easier time reading in natural light so I try to read for an hour or two in the early morning, then I listen to audiobooks during the evening as I am driving or doing housework.

Valerie Book Valkyrie Reading everywhere works for me, a full size hard cover has become an after market appendage. My two favorite times/places to read are at night in bed, where thrillers are escallated to new heights amid REM sleep ; and during inclement weather in my Stressless Chair where comfort pervades.
