Books you read for this challenge will meet the criteria in the squares from the grid below. For each Bingo, you will choose *either* the criteria in 5 squares from one column (e.g. all in the B column), or one square from each of the five columns (one from each letter).

Bingo Grid: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Squares for either option do not need to be adjacent to one another and books may be read in any order, but you may not repeat squares.

Plan carefully. Once a book has been included in a completed bingo, it cannot be swapped out for another square or bingo.

You may read freely, keeping in mind that you may use a square only one time. Because of library holds (or any reason) you may wish to claim more than 5 books before claiming a bingo finish. It is important for you to claim Bingos as you earn them. Your Bingo finisher will be reduced to 25 points whenever you have posted 20 book claims without posting a Bingo finisher.

Scoring

Book claims, books 1-10
10.1-10.10 = 10 points

Book claims, books 11-20
15.11-15.20 = 15 points

Book claims, books 21-30
20.21-20.30 = 20 points

Book claims, books 31-50
30.31-30.50 = 30 points

Book claims, books 51-60
50.51-50.60 = 50 points

Book claims, books 61-75
60.61-60.75 = 60 points

Finishers Bonuses

Bingo: 50 points
Delayed Bingo: 25 points (20 or more claims without a bingo)

Per Book Bonuses

500 pages or more: 5 pts
1997 or earlier: 5 pts
50-word or better review: 5 pts

Some General Notes
All squares that refer to a title-based task, the title must fit the criteria. A sub-title may be present but cannot be used to fulfill the task.
The Lexile rule will be ignored for all claims for the entire season.
Graphic Novels will be accepted for this season.
Unless otherwise noted, all claimed books must be a minimum of 100 pages.
All location-based tasks must be set in target area/region at least 51% of the book.

Kate S | 6459 comments Rewards of the Challenge

1. 10-point task creation -- the top three readers for the Summer 2022 Challenge, as determined by overall points, will each get to create a 10-point task for the Fall 2022 Challenge.

2. Random -- All participants (except mods) who claim at least five books during the Summer season will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $25 US Amazon gift card to be awarded at the beginning of the Fall 2022 season. As this will repeat from season to season, the winner will not have won the drawing in either of the two previous seasons.

* although participants may be eligible for multiple rewards, only one will be granted per challenge. (Random excepted)

* Participants that create tasks for three consecutive challenges are ineligible for a task-creation reward on the fourth. Instead, the member will be asked to submit a group read book. Eligibility is reinstated on the following challenge.
