Kingdom of Ash
question
What are some things you guys feel like didn't get a "happy ending"?

At the end of Kingdom of Ash, we still don't know what happens to some forgotten characters. For example...
Vaughan, the sixth member of the cadre, who is still out there, supposedly searching for Aelin?
Dorian's family, Hollin and Queen Georgina?
Maas either intended for us to give them our own ending, or forgot about these characters entirely! Comment what you guys think!

Definitely agree!
I also wanted to have a reunion between Aelin and Nox and feel like he was just thrown into KoA but not utilized well.

I feel like something should have happened with fenrys...
The book ended when he was all depressed and haunted by all the things that happened to him and I jus felt like something good should have happened to him before the series ended

I totally agree with the comment about Nox. I thought it was super cool that he appeared but then was completely underutilized.
Gavriel's death was so freaking sad. Although Aedion is not my most favorite character, I would have loved a conversation between the two. It was extremely devastating to read.
Manon and Dorian??? OMG. Did we not deserve a happy ending for our shadow daddy? Like what even happened with his kingdom that was in shambles? He is just going to waltz in, and everything is fine and dandy? yea right. I would've been completely fine with a novella or something. Just anything at all to get some kind of closure on the state of his happiness.
Also, Fenrys deserved more. He easily became one of my favorites and I also wanted closure on the state of his happiness as well.
oh and Vaughan? why was he even apart of the book. He was like an afterthought. Mentioned like three times but we never got any information on his story. There is no point to him existing if you ask me.
Don't get me wrong. I loved KoA, but there are some things that I would've really liked to see after the 8 book build up.

I feel like Vaughan HAS to be intertwined somehow with the other series like how is he brought up that many times and not actually looped into the plo

IT'S true.
And I feel like Gavrial's death is also a little unfair. We need some father and son time in the book

there are so many characters that are lovable and it's a little annoying when we don't get to see how their story ends too
what did the last line mean? what was it talking about the mountains....?
I would love to see little novellas or books continuing off the series with the other characters, or the characters now in their own plot/storyline like how ACOTAR is doing with the sisters. I. Need. More.
I for sure thought Hollin and Queen Georgina were going to become relevant to the series after they were mentioned in the first few books, but they just kind of vanished from the story. I thought there would be a Dorian vs. Hollin showdown.
ALSO, the fact that in Tower of Dawn they mentioned that the siblings interested in becoming the next Khaganate would have to fight to the death - they all just accepted Sartaq to be next in line without resistance? I for sure expected Arghun and Hasar to put up a fight. But maybe I'm misremembering something?

I want a spinoff series for Manon and Dorian, I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed desperately to know how that progressed
I second the Manon and Dorian spinoff. That was such a surprisingly interesting subplot!
