Our current series will wrap up at the end of June 2022, so I am going to open nominations for a series to begin July 1, 2022.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Rules for nominating a series:
1. The series must be complete (as far as we can reasonably tell).
2. The series must be fantasy (I know, seems obvious).
3. The series should not be targeted mainly for middle school or a YA audience.
4. The series must not be one the group has already read. Look through the list of discussions or the group bookshelf to see if we’ve read it before.
5. Each member may nominate one series. Please tell us the name of the series, the author, how many books are in the series, and the name of first book in the series. If you want to add more information, please feel free.
6. Each member may second one other nomination in addition to making their own nomination.
7. In order to move into the polling, a nomination must be seconded.
8. Nominations will be open through June 2. We will then have a poll. If there are a lot of nominations or the results are close, we will have a run-off poll between or among the top vote-getters.

Nominations are open! Let’s go!

I think I’ll just put the main series of 5 books in the list and then, if it wins, readers can decide if they want to continue with the spin-offs as a separate discussion from our “official” group discussion. Is that OK?

I have enjoyed everything I’ve read by this author, whether fantasy or SF, so I will nominate The Sharing Knife/Wide Green World (4 books), by Lois McMaster Bujold, starting with Beguilement.

Just a reminder that June 2 is the final day to make nominations and seconds for our next series. We have a couple nominations without seconds, and a nomination must have a second to move into the poll, which will open June 3.

Thank you for all the great nominations and seconds! The poll is open and will remain open through Wednesday, June 8.

If necessary, I will then have a run-off between the top 2 vote-getters.

Reminder—June 8 is the last day to vote in what looks to be a preliminary round of polls for our series to start next month. The top 3 vote-getters are very close—in fact there is a tie for first!

Please vote!

A big thank you to everyone who voted in the preliminary poll for our series to begin next month.

The top two vote-getters were very close, so we will have a final, run-off poll to determine the winner. Voting will be open through Tuesday, June 14.

Please vote!
