4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I had a fantastic reading experience this month, with several standouts: The Trapped Girl, Past Purgatory, Marrying Winterborne, Take Me Higher and When Blood Lies. They were all stories I devoured and couldn’t put down.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I read 16 books this month but, most importantly, highly enjoyed every one of them. I can’t remember a better month like this. And, I again struck a balance between standalones and series reading. It was a good time.

I had some remodeling done on my house in May, so I stayed at mom and dad's house. I had a hard time finding a quiet place to hide and read. Only finished 9 books, but they were all very good.

That's fantastic, Jonetta!
I have to wonder if not starting a new series is a good or a bad thing, lol!

It's difficult when you aren't in your happy reading place. Nevertheless, you did well with 9 great books :)

You know, Lauren, even I was surprised that I hadn’t started a new series😏 That definitely won’t last!

Robin, for nine books read, you made some serious series progress this month. Congrats on that and enjoying what you read!

How the house project coming along?

Melissa (melissasd) | 1610 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
No

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started 2 new series:
Her Majesty’s Royal Coven series by Juno Dawson - This is a new release and I will most definitely continue the series. I am patiently awaiting book 2.
The Beauchamp Family series by Melissa de la Cruz - I started this one because I enjoyed the TV show. Although the book is slightly different, I will continue the series. There is still a lot to learn.
I also read book 1 in the Wicked series by Lisa Jackson, but I don't count it since I read book 3 or 4 a few years ago.

3. Did you move forward in any series (that you didn’t complete or finish)? How many?
I moved forward in 3 series:
Lucy Kincaid series (#15) by Allison Brennan - I'm gonna be lost when we get caught up in this series.
Sisterhood series (#4) Fern Michaels - I love this group of women!
A Court of Thorns and Roses series (#3) by Sarah J. Maas - this author is amazing! She has yet to disappoint me.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas - 5 ★ - incredible story telling and world/character building. It was action packed and stirred up every possible emotion one can have.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
7 books! Now that I have found my happy place and started making sure I had "me" time my reading had improved and become even more enjoyable.

I am SO happy for you, Melissa!!! Finding your happy place changes everything and it’s not a wonder that it’s impacted your reading experiences. And, congrats on your series progress, too.

I wish I’d been able to finish the Maas series we started as a group. You could see her writing improving with each story. Wonderful that you’ve continued.

I agree with your comment about being lost when we catch up in the Lucy Kincaid series. I almost hate to get caught up. It's like losing a friend.

House is finally done. All of the old wallpaper is gone. New paint on the walls in kitchen, livingroom, and bathroom. New counter and sink in kitchen. New floors in all of the rooms. It took a lot of cleaning after all the sanding that had to be done to the walls, but it's finally clean and back together.

It was really strange living at my mom and dad's house for 10 days. They do not have a computer, therefore there is no wifi. They live out in the country where there is absolutely no cell coverage. And their neighbors (Amish) are plowing the fields with horses. I was a little lost without my phone. I felt like I had traveled back in time.

Wow, Robin! That is definitely an adjustment. You must be glad to be back in your home, as nice as it is to spend time with parents at our age.

I missed the Lucy Kincaid comment you made, Melissa. I've been thinking about that often. Brennan says she hasn't ended the series but it's definitely on hiatus. Can you believe we've been reading this series for over 2 years????

Meanwhile, she's working on her other series. I highly recommend the Quinn & Costa series when we catch up. It's really good!
