June Book of the Month: Life Flight (Extreme Measures #1) by Lynette Eason

I started yesterday Jennifer, and I can't turn the pages fast enough!

Beth will probably get them changed out today. She works full time and has a little one.
I'm in for this one! Lynette Eason's one of my favourite suspense authors . . . I always know she'll deliver a great story with relatable characters and plenty of action!

Glad you are joining us Gina and Karin! BTW Gina I am a retired teacher!

So happy to hear that, Karin!
If I might be so bold as to suggest a couple of Eason's series... I really enjoyed her Women of Justice and Danger Never Sleeps series. Haven't really read a bad series by her, but those are my favorites (although this current Extreme Measures series is likely to jump up there if it continues so well in the next books).

Wasn’t it, though! I felt like I couldn’t catch my breath until it was over.

I'm so glad to hear you've added Lynette Eason to your list!

1. Would you like to be an EMS helicopter pilot? Why or why not?
2. What 3 words would you use to describe Penny Carlton?
3. What 3 words would you use to describe Holt Satterfield.
4. What twist surprised you the most?
5. Were you surprised by the ending? Why or Why not?

3. Brave, caring, strong
4. The one where Penny got kidnapped
5. Yes because I thought they were goners there for awhile.
1. Would you like to be an EMS helicopter pilot? Why or why not?
~No. I think it would be far too stressful for me.
4. What twist surprised you the most?
~TBH, the reveal when it turns out that Joel was the one killed in the struggle on the mountain at the beginning and not Rabor (I'm totally blanking on his first name right now!). I thought the twist was something like he wasn't the actual killer at all. (shows you what *I* know! ha!)
5. Were you surprised by the ending? Why or Why not?
~I figured out that Sally was the 'other woman' only *just* before Penny did, so I was 'yelling' at her to run away from Sally's house. (lol)
~I also wasn't expecting the twist with Holt's sister not having been the one to kill her husband.
~No. I think it would be far too stressful for me.

1. I wouldn't be a helicopter pilot because I flew in a small plane once and that was scary enough for me!

YES! This book was chock-full of twists, but that one was the best, I thought. Every time I thought I knew who was who and what was what, Eason would switch things up and reveal something else. That's why this one felt so much like her best work, because it kept me guessing way deeper into the story than her books typically do. Not complaining about the others; I'm a big fan. But this one felt completely fresh and riveting.

Totally with you, Loraine! I haven't been in a small plane, but I chickened out of a helicopter ride that my sis found fascinating. I'll keep my feet on the ground unless it's a big plane and I'm feeling extra courageous that day, thanks.

Thanks, I'll try them. I'm always on the look out for Christian books but am not big on too much romance--only romance if it's a different kind of book.
One author I wish had kept on writing and publishing is Christa Parrish. Someday I'll reread her books, but I quite liked her stuff.
EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient--and a serial killer on the loose--tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's help. But she's not out of the woods yet.
In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack. And when news reaches Holt that he may not have gotten his man after all, it will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer--before he catches one of them.
Bestselling and award-winning author Lynette Eason is back with another high-octane tale of close calls, narrow escapes, and the fight to bring a nefarious criminal to justice.
Who will be joining me for this month's Book of the Month read?
