Bought a friend's ebook and used the notebook feature to make notes for a review. When I went to export I found that "the publisher allows 100% export". Not good for struggling writers. Other ebooks I have bought set a limit to 10% but I can't find that in the author's dashboard. Any suggestions?

Not sure what you're trying to export - the notes or the book? If you're trying to export your notes, wouldn't 100% export be helpful? If it's the book itself, that would be odd, but I know some books can be lent to other kindle readers.A little more explanation would help.

But the words "the publisher allows 100% be be exported" (I had only selected 1.4%) struck me as odd and open to abuse. As I recall, in Smashwords, the author can select the download limit.

Some genres seem to be pretty susceptible to pirating.
Notify the friend. If t is a free book, 100% download would be acceptable. If it was a pay book, that isn't a good thing. Your notes should be 100% downloadable. I've not seen where I can download any parts of any books that I have bought, just the notes.
