Pandora gets embroiled in some ugly political theater when she visits the printer she’s considering for her board game and later almost loses her life because of the encounter. What did you make of this aspect of the storyline?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I liked it. It added a little suspense to the story. I was expecting that Nola was going to be a problem for Pandora and Gabriel would have to grovel. I'm not a big fan when the heroine listens to gossip, or walks by and misinterprets an encounter with an ex.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I liked it too. I like Historical Romance, but I always love it when there is a mystery/suspense element.

At first it felt a little contrived but the more I thought about it, I figured this was to set up Ethan’s story. The Scotland Yard corruption may still be dangerous for him. And, he’s now connected to the Ravenels. Then it made more sense.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I liked the addition of this story. Since Gabriel and Pandora were married by the middle of the book, I was afraid the ex-mistress was going to come between them. I'm happy that didn't happen.

Yes, I believe this was a set-up for the next book.
