Here are a few to consider:
- Exit the Colonel: The Hidden History of the Libyan Revolution
- A Rope from the Sky: The Making and Unmaking of the World's Newest State
- Formation: The Making of Nigeria From Jihad to Amalgamation
I am looking for recommendations on coastal West Africa, especially Sierra Leone or Guinea. Thanks!

I do not know if the following title is any good, but if so, I would like to nominate Another America: The Story of Liberia and the Former Slaves Who Ruled It.

Wonderful suggestions!
I would like to propose I Didn't Do It for You: How the World Betrayed a Small African Nation by Michela Wrong on Eritrea.

I'll second Another America-- oof! Looks interesting.
Any other ideas or "seconds"? I'll try to get the poll up on Saturday.
