How is everyone doing? Did you get a chance to read the short story or the non-fiction this month? I read the Little Green God of Agony on my flight to Hawaii and liked it. If you get a chance, pick up A Book of Horrors edited by Stephen Jones. The stories are really good. They are definitely on the creepy, scary side, just the way they are supposed to be. I’ve become jaded when it comes to horror lately. Nothing seems scary anymore. This collection won’t disappoint.
I have definitely dropped the ball this month. Still planning on reading On Writing but it looks like that might have to roll over into August. I seriously blinked and this month was gone lol. I've barely read anything!

I loved that Easter egg! I'm not sure how true it is but I heard the Duffer Brothers are trying to adapt the Talisman, so it makes sense. I'm OBSESSED with this last season of Stranger Things. No spoilers here, but it's safe to say my husband is beyond tired of hearing me talk about my love for Eddie Munson lol.

Sending you hugs Chelley. It has been hot no doubt. I've been struggling with reading this entire year. As for videos. I just haven't had the energy to film and edit. I have a 2 hour video from Christmas that I never edited and I probably won't now because it is sooo old. School has been hectic and starting at the end of the month I'll be in full time. We'll see if I can commit to anything.

I hope all are doing well and you are enjoying your summer in whatever fashion that is. I for one am currently in Summer school, so it hasn't been all that relaxing. However, tomorrow is the 4th of July so for those that are in the States. Happy 4th!!
This month we focus on Lala's buzzword "bookish words". As we stroll through King's works there is the book, 'On Writing'. If you have not read this book it is a non-fiction that King wrote to explain his methods...on well, writing. I read this book about a decade ago and found it extremely helpful.
If you aren't the non-fiction type there is also a short story collection called 'A Book of Horrors', in this anthology edited by Stephen Jones is a short story written by King called "Little Green God of Agony".
Now you can read this short story and be done for the month or you can try and read the entire Book of Horrors. I'll be going on vacation in 2 days and plan on taking this book on the plane. We will see how far I get in the readings.
Here's what I found on Little Green God of Agony. There is a comic exclusive on this story written in Oct of 2012. So if you want to read the comic version here is the link: https://stephenking.com/promo/little_...
As for movies for this short story, Lion's Gate was in the works to make it with The Walking Dead showrunner Ian Goldburg. As of 2020, there hasn't been any more news of this story.
Without spoiling myself and you guys I peeked at the synopsis. It's about an RN hired to care for a wealthy client. That's all I'm going to say.
Well that's it for now. Whether you read the short story within the Book of Horror, the webcomic from the link provided or the non-fiction 'On Writing' I wish you all a pleasant July and as always, HAPPY READING!
