Monica S. White | 45 comments I’m late joining, also. My mom & I are preparing to move across the street from my grandparents’ house into a 2-bedroom rental house; however, the rental needs an almost full renovation done first. My grandma, aunt, & an electrician friend are helping our landlady with a lot of the work, so as soon as it’s ready, we can move in. The goal was to move by July 1st, but now the goal is Aug. 1st. Well, it’s all in God’s timing. 👌🏼

Anyway, from reading several of the members’ comments, I’m gathering that we can choose just 1 challenge, we’re not expected to do all 5??? Also, how do the numbered titles of the challenges fit? Like “Eraser” and “Pen”? Do they have anything to do with the actual books chosen?

Hi Monica :)

I hope the move goes well. I moved cross-country two months ago, and I know how much work it is.

From what I've gathered, each person can pick 1-5 challenges - as many as you like. Also, I realized that each person made up their own challenges - what the challenges are, how many books to read on each challenge, and the like. I used all the examples and my knowledge of how much I read to pick what I'm going to do.

That's what I figured as well. Im trying to challenge myself and just have fun. The challenge ends December 31st, so quite a bit of time to try and complete our lists. :)

I hope your move goes well.

The names eraser, pen, etc. are just level names. It doesn't have anything to do with the books chosen.

As Emily and Andrea said, you get to pick/make your own 1-5 checklists that you hope to finish by December 31st. :)

How's everyone doing so far? I need to update my list soon and see what I have left. 😊

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I need four more nonfiction books and three published in 2021. That's better than I thought!

message 22: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Lybbert | 78 comments I am doing pretty good. I got all my audiobooks (3 out of 3) and 7 out of 9 Kindle read. It is the paperback I own checklist that is only 1 of 9 complete. I keep reading library books!! But I have the 8 paperbacks all planned out and hopefully can stay on track and finish them by the end of the year.

Just updated mine and I need 3 more nonfiction and 5 (!) books that have been on my TBR for over 10 years. That last one might be a little difficult with the time remaining. I'll try my best. ;)

Katrina Lybbert | 78 comments I came very close to finishing this challenge. I still need 2 paperbacks and I could go and read a couple kids picture books just to do it... but I'm not going to as that wasn't the point of the challenge. I am actually reading a couple more kindle books that are higher priority...

I did finish 7/9 Paperbacks I own, 9/9 Kindle and 3/3 audio.

It was a good way to get me reading books I own over library books.

Thanks for the challenge!
