Winifred Morris | 13 comments Have any of you tried Amazon's ads? They say you can target them. You pay only for clicks. Do they get results?

I've used Google ads for traffic to my website, JimsGotWeb.com with great results, but I haven't used it for my book on Amazon.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone that has tried it.

William Peters | 4 comments I'm also interested in this.

On a related topic, I wish Amazon would provide analytics. It would be really useful to know how many people are landing on my book's page, and how many people have downloaded my book's sample.

Jamie McFarlane (fickledragon) I've recently signed up for this. to date I've received several tens of thousands of impressions, over forty clicks, and zero sales. I can't say if this is doing me any good.

BR Kingsolver (brkingsolver) | 4 comments This is an idea Amazon copied from Goodreads. They have an "auction" where your ad is bumped up against other ads for the same target audience and the one with the highest "bid", i.e. the advertiser willing to pay the highest amount per click, is shown. So far I've spent $15 for $3 in sales.

Dorian Box | 3 comments Yesterday I wrote a blog post called "Are Kindle Ad Campaigns Worth the Investment?" My answer is a tentative yes. I'm spending more on clicks than the royalties being generated, but have sold several dozen books in the month of June since I started my new campaigns. Since I'm trying to get my book out there and read, it's worth it for now. Amazon recently made a couple of helpful tweaks to the program, which I explain in the post. One key is to experiment with several different campaigns at once. Since you pay by the click, there's no downside to this approach. Here's the blog post if anyone is interested: http://dorianbox.com/are-kindle-ad-ca...
