shelf indulgence discussion

I feel like a lot of readers go back and forth! I currently have mine by series and if they are standalones I group books by the same author together! But I just got a new bookshelf so im thinking about color coding it!

i organize by genre and then within the genres i put them in order of my favorite to least favorite but i keep the series together! :)

I user to have it by author then by color. However now I have it by genre and there's a specific spot for my dnfs

I’m a huge sjm fan and I have all her series in multiple formats so I keep them all together and it’s my favorite thing ever. My personal preference is black books w gold lettering so I keep those together and then by height I organize them. For colorful books, I keep series together and try to make a rainbow!

Yes, very much. I do the same by genre like classics, fantasy, romances. Arranging and Rearranging my bookshelf is so much fun.

mine are organised by the colour of the spine! my bookshelf has a rainbow order basically 😭

mine is organized by genre, expect for my cassandra clare books (the shadowhunters chronicles), they have a shelf just for them.

genre and author, as much as I love the aesthetic of color coding I couldn't handle books in the same series being separated

I put books by the same author together, but in fact there is not really a specific organization beside that... I just put the book where I have space coz i have a small shelf

mines is organized by the order i read them tbh, like from oldest to new ones

By genre and inside each genre I organize by height.

Any other way doesn't work for me - tried by color, alphabetically, read/unread split and it always leads to me rearranging my books again like a day later.
