Fantasy: Babel, or The Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators' Revolution
SF: Upgrade by Blake Crouch
Fantasy: not sure
I have several Sf this month and no fantasy *sigh*
Ymir Rich Larson
Drunk on All Your Strange New Words Eddie Robson
and
August Kitko and the Mechas from Space Alex White
all look really great but I have no room to nominate them
Just recently I had all fantasy and no SF. I will try to go back and see what I nominated but that did not win

Both are on my TBR pile so I guess I won't nominate something else

Yes, seconding is possible, but if in other groups it is used to limit numbers of nominees for voting (only seconded nominees end up in polls), we don't have such a rule, therefore it just shows your support but nothing else

Yeah the locked tomb is a weird hybrid of fantasy, SF and horror. let's nominate in SF because the fantasy field is so crowded right now.

Well, I was basicly looking at last month's unsuccessful nominees for interesting targets.
The polls have closed. Babel, or The Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators' Revolution by R.F. Kuang won the Fantasy poll by a landslide, but the SF poll ended on a tie. I flipped a coin, and the winner is Eversion by Alastair Reynolds.

Yes, a buddy read is perfect for it and I may be the one, who both hates and plans to read it, for it likely ends up nominated for some awards

Yep, I skipped 1/3 of the first and much of the second, so thanks for not making this a monthly book
I'm fine with that, I'll read it regardless of if it's a group read. Definitely my most anticipated of the year.
