Hi everyone,

If you were joining us for This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub, we are continuing the story as Alice has time-traveled back to her teen days and reuniting with school friends after finding herself at her father's home and her old room.

Alice and Sam were on their way to a party, it was Alice's 16th birthday. As she is preparing for her party, she is getting reacquainted with Sam and explaining how she has come from the the future. Sam has difficulty believing her. Sam starts to ask Alice questions about how she turned out in the future. Alice was re-living the pain of SATs the almost forgotten emotions of youth. She found herself in Tommy's company during test prep class. They went to Central Park to smoke cigarettes. She had a chemistry with him. They talked about her upcoming party. Tommy told her he wasn't going to college, however, he attended Princeton, like his parents.

Alice was anticipating her party, she wanted to re-live these moments and make them better and make better memories with her dad. If she had time-traveled, she wanted to improve everything she had experienced in the past. She realized that with her reunions with friends, that everyone did not have the same teen experiences. Some were easy, others were more painful and difficult. She wasn't too happy to received a phone call from her mother, wishing her a happy birthday.

She talked to her father about his writing, she wanted to be more interested and know more about him. She didn't hesitate to tell him she thought his stories were not exciting, but to a 16 year old girl, she wasn't an expert and started to notice the joy in finding out his writing secrets. She had dinner with Leonard and Sam and he decides to let the girls be on their own for the night, while he stays in a hotel.

Alice believes she has time-traveled back to her teen years. She is trying to not only re-live her past, but also change moments of time with better choices. Will this change her future? Will her attempts at making her friendships with more confidence and less fear, change her future relationships with them? Can Alice make peace and understanding with her father before returning to the future? She is finding herself comfortable in the past, does she want to return to the future? What will happen at her party?

What are your thoughts?

Have a good day.

Sincerely,

-Donna
