I'm waiting to get to know Lukov more, because at the moment we don't really know him at all.
I have a lot of respect for Jasmine for keeping up with her skating even after it seemed like she was done competing.

Also I think her Moms hilarious and I find it super annoying that the book keeps re explaining who people are - I get who James is you don’t need to tell me 4 times he’s her brothers husband.

So I loved that L was sliding into J family dinners. Pretty slick, I could tell now he has to be into her to do that. He also helped her babysit just to spend time with her. I thought that was super sweet. ❤️ And when she got sick he was so caring and attentive. The animal zoo took me by surprise but it was funny and delightful at the same time.
What did you all think??

I now finished chapters 1-9 and plan to get much more reading done today and tomorrow.
Honestly, it took me a while to find my way into this story and the writing style (a lot of long sentences). But ever since the actual partnering up happened, I'm hooked. I love the bickering between these two and Jasmine's family is one that would deserve its own t.v. show. I love the dynamic.
Can't wait to catch up! But just wanted to let you know I'm not dead, and neither am I forgetting about you.

Well, that’s what happened to me. I loved the chemistry between them, I loved that there was no big blow-up between them at the end.
However I do wish we could have seen more of Ivan’s story. Jasmine has groen throughout the story, she changed so much whereas Ivan has been there for her through everything (the sweetheart) but hasn’t really changed throughout the story.
Would loved for this one to be written in double POV.

Nevermind, I'll finish it this week then ;)
I'm obviously loving it. It turned out that you were right and Lukov has liked Jasmine all along and even wanted to pair up with her!
I love Jasmine's family and how close they are with each other and yes, I know VERY well by now who James is :D
Looking forward to reading the rest :)

my only annoyance with this book is that 60% of the way through the book and the author is still describing people we’ve already met …
ie.
““Hey, Jasmine,” a nice voice called out from down the hall a moment before the tall, blond man walked toward us. “Hi, Aaron,” I said, rocking on my heels. “Aaron, you remember Ivan.” The blond beefcake, who I swore could have had a successful career as a gigolo if he hadn’t been in the military, held his hand out toward me, and I slapped his palm. He then turned to Ivan and held it out too, where Ivan shook it. “Nice seeing you again,” my brother-in-law said, taking a step back to be side by side with my sister.”
Just seems like a strange thing to do. 🤷🏻♀️

There were some things that could have been done better, there always are, but at the same time, I loved so many little things about the story, that I'm not at all bothered by the negatives.
I loved that this book didn't have a typical romance novel structre - no major break-up, then getting back together at the end.
I loved their first kiss (or rather Lukov showing his affection) and that it happened so late in the book.
I loved how smoothly their relationship has been evolving, their friendship growing stronger and then love jumping on top of that.
I loved how smug Lukov was when he said he knew Jas loved him, obviously. LOL
And yeah, I can see what Nicky means about the author constantly explaining who is who. I noticed at some point that whenever Jasmine mentions someone from her family their name usually comes after explaining who they are, for example 'My sister Ruby' (75% into the book) rather than just Ruby... but I'm not sure I would pay attention to it that much if Nicky hadn't mentioned it :)

I loved both MC and Jasmine’s whole family, I also absolutely loved reading about ice skating!
That’s about it. I hated how much of a slow burn it was. I absolutely HATED the writing style, so much so I nearly DNF. It reminded me so much of The Spanish Love Deception where it was constantly over explained who people were.
Also how many times did they blink at each other during the whole book? My bet is on around 150 times!
Giving it a solid 2.5 stars and feel like that could be a bit generous!

Since it's already middle of the week and not everyone has their copy yet, maybe let's just read only the first 3 chapters?
week 1: chapters 1-3 (about 50 pgs)
week 2: 4-9 (about 100 pgs)
week 3: 10-15 (about 100 pgs)
week 4: 16-end (about 100 pgs)
How does that sound?
