Dan | 1568 comments So, what weird fiction book shall we read for the special month of October? Please feel free to make up to two nominations by mid-month September.

Zina (dr_zina) | 296 comments I am not sure if this qualifies as weird fiction. Folks in the House of Leaves Facebook group were highly recommending it. This Thing Between Us

The other book I am thinking of - and this is probably totally out there is Village Evenings Near Dikanka and Mirgorod in particular, the story called Viy. There is a rather preposterous cinematic effort called the Forbidden Empire that is loosely based on that story. I got reminded of it by some of the stories by Pu Songling, like that one where they got a certificate from the Magistrate that they were being chased around by the dead woman's corpse.
Now, this book has other genres of stories too - I guess one can always skip those.
So anyhow, not sure if either one of these will work for this group; leaving it to Dan's discretion whether you want to include or not.

Dan | 1568 comments Good nominations, Zina. Thanks.

I wish to nominate a form we have not seen yet in our group: poetry! The book is Professor LaGungo’s Exotic Artifacts & Assorted Mystic Collectibles: Increased Inventory by Mark McLaughlin.

Still five days left to nominate before I run the next poll.
