SFF Readalongs led by Kitty G discussion

Well that chapter was intense! Especially the ending!
I liked the fact that we were back with Devin and seeing form his POV again as I certainly enjoy reading about their little band of travellers.
I also enjoyed seeing Alberico's struggles and attempts to deal with all the problems which have happened since Sandre's 'death'. I thought seeing his pov was both enlightening and entertaining and I really enjoyed getting a bit of background into him and the way he thinks.
As for Devin and his band I felt like their story was getting really good and when they met the traveller Erlein I did wonder if they'd recruit him...which they did...but certainly not how I'd thought they would!
I found the scenes where Erlein was fighting Alessan's 'bond' so heart breaking because they knew barely anything about him and he'd been so nice and friendly to them when they first met. I really felt for the poor man, it sounded pretty brutal to be sure!!
On the whole enjoying this a lot still and we're not far off the halfway mark which is exciting!

Good writing which highlights that when at war you sometimes can't really differentiate between the good and the bad. That Alessan had to resort to doing certain acts (forcing the bond was cruel) in his attempts to overthrow the Tyrants and restore Tigana is one good example.
