CUSTOMERS
🔴 Children ; only eat fish and chips (no vinegar), sandwiches, quiche, juice and water.
🔴 Teenagers ; eat all frozen meals, soda/soft drinks and desserts.
🔴 Adults ; eat everything. May even give you a tip (which allows you to preserve fresh food for next month)
🔴 Pensioners only eat Sandwich, Fish and Chips (with vinegar), Tea and Coffee and pasta (and in month 1 the special)
Customers are randomised at the end of the month to eat the team meals. (This will impact your points as meals eaten will depend on your customers. Waste can also be expensive for restaurants!)
BOOKS OF THE MONTH
For every team member that participates in a Book of the Month (BOM) (by joining the discussion and/or writing discussion questions) they will be able to swap out two assigned customers for others of their choice.
Limited to two customers for each team member per BOM. (i.e. you can't get the customer bonus for writing DQs AND participating. But if you join 2 BOMs in one month, you can get 4 bonuses).
This bonus will be available for BOMs that start after the challenge begins.

Looks like it autopopulates a lot which is great as it will tell us automatically what stuff can be used for
I posted some reminders in posts here because I like to keep reminders to myself in one area so hopefully this doesnt bug anyone
I love Spell it outs and scavenger hunts themes, so I'm definitely excited to try this one out.

Brittany when Erin asked me about joining you two I didn't know at the time that it was YOU from FLOAB. I got super excited when I figured it out that it was YOU!!!! LOL I told Erin, HEY I'm in some her challenges over there----->
But it's nice to get to spend some time with both of you here. Erin already knows, I get a little stuipd silly sometimes, so just overlook me : )
Thanks Erin for setting this all up. NOPE not bugging me. It helps me too when I need to know something...keeps me from spending hours trying to figure out where I saw it LOL Being old, my memory plays lots of nasty tricks on me sometimes : /

."
No problem!! And you both probably know by now I LOVE Spreadsheet challenges and planning.
I just put together something that is easier for me to understand and track for these meals in a tab on our office spreadsheet here- "Meal Info" - I tried to organize it for us to make clear
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
I'm already going to be thinking of coffees and fun ideas for these on my personal spreadsheet where I usually track challenges because I'm a dork that way :)

Hi Mrs.!!! Good to see you here : ) I'm pretty excited about doing this challenge with all of you.
I do tend to read a lot and I'm usually the one that let's everyone choose what they want to do and I fill in the slack. I don't work so spend a lot of my time here on GR and reading. So I told Erin, y'all will probably just have to pull me by the ear and let me know what I need to be reading and I will LOL I have absolutely no problems with that : )

I am enjoying the challenges in FLOAB!!! I'm a challenge junkie and get all caught up in them and get behind posting LOL I said I wasn't going to join a bunch of them this year, but guess what? Here I am : )
I'm happy you liked the group name. I started typing some out and got stuck on Pantries in a Twist lol After that I couldn't think of anymore : /

I'm not much of a planner either. The only challenge that I do plan for is the Seasonal Reading Challenge--it's task specific so it does take a hot minute to find books for it.

LOL I was excited to start this one but I think I've waited so long my excitement got some GONE!! Once we get started and interact more it will be better : )

I have books in progress for another challenge but know this one is started after challenge starts. Thankfully have a four day weekend coming up :)

I am a bit confused on Scavenger hunt from the example spreadsheet. You can mark an ingredient fully complete by finding it in a book, but if you use spell it out you have to use multiple books to spell out the word? I'd be surprised if people stuck mainly to spell it outs in that case.

I've read some thoughts from returning players that are saying that it's easier, less complicated to work on building your own meals and then contribute to helping others complete their meals. EX: your book has "vinegar listed 10 times. team mate needs vinegar to finish fish and chips. Use your book to help team mate finish their meal of fish and chips.
Start Time Timer
https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

Should we color code ours on the food type on our spreadsheet to show who has put what planned in? Such as I could color mine light orange highlight, someone can do half blue, or is that making it more confusing instead of more helpful?
That way if we are working on the same things we dont accidentally get confused on which salad is whose, etc
Something like this - where I'm light orange and Robin is light blue, etc.

Thanks for doing the countdown :)
I still have some books to finish next few days for another challenge that won't count for this one, but have some ones I want to begin for this one today also.
I have to work for 6 hours and 45 minutes today, then I'm off for 4 days starting tomorrow -- woohoo! I need the break BADLY.
Even though we can't read or mark books finished yet, I'm pretty sure we can start putting planned meals on the tab ' Kitchen Meals Created Round 1 ' - to show which words or letters we are going to put books into later.
I have a copy of this spreadsheet so have been doing some behind the scenes planning on a private spreadsheet when the challenge was first announced, but hadn't had time the past few weeks to revisit it

I didn't like her book, The Nightingale, but maybe I'd like The Four Winds better. If I have time and a way to get it from library, may give it a shot

What do we need. I just finished a book. i can post with potential things it fits for

If you need help navigating or adding a book to the spreadsheet later, let me know!
