I don't mind waiting for all of you to get your copies, we can read something else or just wait and not read anything, up to you 😉

Yeah, it's definitely a bit slow and there's more science talk than romance. The general idea for the story seems a bit silly... As important as it might be for the science - it's all about building a helmet! I'm not getting lost, but I'm a little disappointed and I feel like I know exactly what's coming next... 😒
I can't say that I'm not enjoying it, though, and there should be more action in the 2nd half. Also, chapter 13 ends in the middle of a scene and it was a struggle to stop reading 😅

After sneaking a peak at your findings, I was a bit weary of the science talk. But, when reading, it didn't bother me. In fact, I think the constant comparisons to Marie Curie, gave me a little insight into Bree.
I love Bree and Levi and their banter. I like how they (like all people do) take bits of information and create their own truth, which is totally understandable.
I agree that it all is a bit predictable and we all can think who shmac is, but for me, that's the joy of reading romance. We all know how it's going to end, and we can all figure out how some things are going to evolve and turn out. But I'm waiting for that unexpected plot twist that surprises me.
I think it's cute how Levi is taking care of Bree, constantly. Especially now at the congress. Can't wait to see how it unfolds with Annie and Tim.

well, I gave it 3 stars. I wanted this book tonbe much better than that, but in my opinion it wasn't. I agree with Laurette - it's an OK read but not good enough to be recommended...

I share the mixed feelings. I loved Bee and the diverse mix of side characters which I believe were nicely developed for side characters. They had their own story. I missed Levi’s story, though.
For me, Ali’s writing style (the pace, tone) reads really nicely. Sure the science bits read a bit slower for me (not a Beta girl) but they didn’t bother me.
I think this books biggest obstacle for we was how much I loved the Love Hypothesis. The danger of comparing the two loomed around every corner with every turning page.
I’d give the story 3,5 stars (which unfortunately cannot be done on Goodreads).

As some of us are quite excited to read this one, we've agreed to give it only 2 weeks, starting on Monday 29th August.
As always, everyone is welcome to join in - we usually read the chapters during the week and comment on what we've read on the weekend, but if you feel like saying something on let's say Wednesday - then Wednesday it is :)
The first 50% is up until chapter 14, so...
week 1: beginning - chapter 13
week 2: chapter 14 - end.
Is that okay with everyone?
