The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
question
Team Henry or Team Luc???
Henry is a really flat character, but I think it somehow was meant to be like that, she fell in love with him because of what he represented not because of who he was.
I don't like Luke either, he behaved really badly, and again she only fell in 'love' with him because he was a constant in her life , I don't think she really enjoyed neither of their personalities all that much.

Definitely Luc. Their relationship is toxic but I gobble that shit up
Luc was meant for Addie not because Henry had the personality of a brick wall but because some how inside his soul Luc loved Addie and she loved him throughout all the time they were alone with each other.
I was shipping her with Luc against my will...he was not a good guy, but he was so much more interesting than Henry.
Zaire Bergeron
Heavy on shipping her against your will! Because that was NOT supposed to happen lol.
Between the two, Luc. But I like the musician best. She kept going back to him even though he didn't remember her so she obviously liked something about him specifically, about his personality. And he fell for her every day, and held the idea of her as someone he loved even though he didn't remember her.
I like Luc because even though he is obviously not a good guy, I like the idea that even the devil can love, in his own way. Plus, confidence is sexy and... he is magic.
Henry and Addie loved each other in a way, too. They chose to love each other because they both needed to be seen and to he loved, and they could provide that for each other where no one else could. That is a type of love.

I don't think the story can be simplified to a love triangle. Neither of them was meant for Addie. The story wasn't a romance and shouldn't be viewed that way. They both had their flaws. Her emotions toward Henry were not because of who he was but because it was the first time Addie had a sustaining human connection. It wasn't love, but it was something. Luc was an interpretation of the devil. He was meant to be tempting. He even took the appearance of Addie's ideal partner. I don't believe Luc loved her. He just happened to be the only person who remembered her. I believe that was also the main appeal of Luc. He was a comfort, in a way.
I was torn between the two. I disliked Luc for putting her through what he did but you can see that throughout the story Addie seemed to bring out a human like quality to Luc that made him feel emotions akin to humans. Their relationship was way more interesting than Harry's.
Its going to be Luc for me, mainly because the tension was just so good and it truly kept the novel going. His personality was interesting and engaging. was he a good guy? defnitely not. was he "the one" for Addie? once again, hard no. BUT he did not hold back when it came to his charm and villain-ness. Im sorry Henry as much as you want to be loved, you won't be loved by me :(
Luc or no one. I feel Addie is being unfair, she chose to make the deal and she cant play the victim honestly, actions have consequences. Even then luc was not just the only one who remembered her, he saved her multiple times and he did feel something due to which he gave her the ring as well. And now shes trying to hurt him just because Henry chose to make a deal. Thats bs in my humble opinion
Henry because I found him kinda relatable lol. I didn't know people thought that he lacked a personality :')
I actually don't understand how people are team Luc. The whole message of that book (or at least what I got from it) was that Addie survived for hundreds of years, but she never truly lived until she met Henry. He spent years carefully writing her biography only to not give himself any credit because he knew how important it was to her. Also, Addie literally sacrificed her freedom, so Henry could live out his life and that is the only reason she ended up with Luc (because of how much she cared for Henry). People say he's flat, but I don't think he is. He isn't boring, he's real. She was able to experience a real human relationship with Henry, rather than her relationship with Luc which was a complete lie. Luc and Addie both depended on each other to cure their loneliness, but I believe there was no love there.
Just reread it and I’m still Team Luc. Henry was a love of convenience. Luc is a love of the soul
Is both an answer? Okay, so, the enemies-to-lovers fan in me shipped Luc with Addie against my will. Luc is not a good guy by any means, but the tension was too much to not consider him as a potential love interest. If I'm being rational, I would have kicked Luc out of the window the very first second, but as I said, enemies-to-lovers trope always gets me and when given the context of the story, their 'love' is spicy, it has tea, it has drama, y'know. Also, Luc is not real, he is part Addie's imagination and part evil, twisted magic. He is the devil, and apart from the tension, I don't think he really loved her, I do not think the devil is capable of love- not just romantic but any kind of love- In my opinion, he wanted Addie's soul, nothing special at first, but then he was caught of guard when he couldn't get what he wants, so he slowly became obsessed with her and he thought it was love.
However, Henry was a sweet guy, I loved him. (I saw a comment that he was flat as a pancake, lmao, that's just so funny, anyway) Even though, he might have been insecure and he is not the most interesting and mysterious guy on the planet, I felt like he was really, really sweet and kind. He had his flaws but mostly, he was boyfriend material. He deeply cared for his girlfriend, and he just wants to be enough for people, that is super relatable. Even though the attraction between him and Addie was -at the start- because of their curses and how they were exceptions for each other, I feel like realy love grew between them.
As for my final answer, I think Henry.

Neither! I liked her chemistry with Sam (the artist in the apartment.)
I love Luc. So sad he thinks he finally got the girl but she is still secretly planning his demise. She said he couldn’t love her because he wouldn’t give up her soul. In the end, she got it all. She freed Henry, got her soul back, and saw Luc free. It’s still not enough for Addie. She is a crazy. Luc 100% knows amount the semantics in the terms but he doesn’t care. He’s been waiting for her. She is plotting to break his heart. He told her is true feeling that he always loved her and it was never a game. I can’t believe her. Poor Luc.
I would say team Henry. I know he seems bland but I think that's mostly because a normal person (aka human) can't compete with a God who was designed and created based on Addie's desires. I see Henry as peace and calmness, and Luc as the opposite. Peace doesn't always mean boredom. (and Luc is just toxic af, and I don't tolerate that, not since high school at least... #growth)
Team Luc! I loved their relationship, even though it was toxic. It was what kept me going throughout the whole book. I wouldnt really say that Luc and Henry were really love interests to Addie but more like the only people she had in option that really remembered her...
This is part for me. I think I lived Luc involuntarily. I never choose to like his character, it just kind of happened. He was very toxic and I don't even know if I believe that he really loved Addie, but he sure did pay the part.
I do believe that Henry was a good change for Addie, but it was one dimensional type of relationship. They didn't have enough time together for me to say yay or nay.

Neither. I didn't enjoy most of the characterizations. Her exes like the musician and the apartment (painter?/potter?) seemed somewhat interesting but I'm sure any more exposure and they would've fallen as flat as the rest of them.
before i get to know henry i would have choose luc but then i realised that luc was so annoying like bro why do u need her so bad like he can take anyone else soul but he only wanted her and it was so annoying but he was u know mysterious and dark u know my type lol, and that's what i liked abt him.
i totally don't believe he loved her but he only wanted her to be his and no one else.and he was just a thing she imagined
abt henry he was sweet and cute and all that things but the fear and insecure he had wasn't my type and not something addie deserved so yeah i wouldn't pick anyone of them but if i had to pick one i would pick henry cuz he made her happy and alive unlike luc

cuando leí el libro diria que henery, pero ahora pienso que es mucho mas interesante luc
I'm going to be honest, even though she was only there for a few pages and it would be adultery... I'm team Samantha
Luc para siempre, me ha dejado muchas cictarices emocionales. Uno de los mejores libros y perosnajes que he leido en mucho tiempo
FYI, Luc is the devil and not a good teammate or anything else. Henry is Addie's only "relationship" for centuries, so love/hate/meh, Henry gets my vote.
I prefer Henry. Luc was the perfect man from her sketch, but his character- egoist, narcistic and without feelings. He just want to feel the power he has. For me Henry is cute, adorable and lost. He was lost in his own world, where he doesn't know how to live properly. Addie and that situation helped him to grow and understand a little bit better that world. I think Henry helped Addie too. He show her understanding and gave a piece of his heart. They have fun together and spend some nice and quiet time.
Absolutely Luc! He’s not a good guy but his story/relationship with Addie and overall character was so much more interesting than Henry but I think it was meant to be that way.
Honestly, I feel like none of them are the right answer. Henry is as flat as a pancake and Luc represents too much evil. He's caging her in, wants to possess her. She is a free spirit, not ment to be bound. And eventhough she craves love, she is not the right person to just exist for it. Maybe Addi is like the soul version of aromantic.
i was shipping her with Luc the entire time. Henry didnt give much for me he was a little bit bland which is why i think i didnt like the book as much as i could have.
Luc, even though I know he is the villain but I love him anyway. Team Luc all the way! lol
Team Luc!! I liked the chemistry better between Addie and Luc.
It always be Luc. His love, acceptance, waiting for addie and his way of showing his love for addie was tremendously devouring
The whole pot though reminded me of Georgina Kincaid and that was a better read
