Tom Severin attends Pandora’s wedding and hears a conversation between Cassandra and West where she laments her failure to find a suitable love match. She even asks West to marry her. When Tom sees her, he comes out of the shadows and offers himself up as a husband. Was he serious? Do you think his heart was actually captured in this moment unbeknownst to him?

I didn't really believe he was serious. She flatly stated she wanted a love match, and he knew that was not what he wanted. I do believe he was taken with her beauty and wit. Part of me thought he was just jesting with West, but part of me believed he may have really meant it.

Tom recognized that there was something missing in his life even though he could buy anything that he wanted. He wasn't in love with Cassandra yet, but his heart skipped a beat. Being an excellent negotiator, he was interested in striking a deal. He was confident that he could convince Cassandra that love isn't that important. She fooled him.

I thought he was dead serious. But, he wanted Cassandra, in his mind, for reasons that didn’t involve the heart. She was going to be perfect to be the wife arm piece he was looking for. With that said, I also believe his heart was a little bit captivated, unknown to him at that time. It was a spark.

I thought he was serious also. In his mind, it was a logical decision. I think he was a little bit maybe not in love but in like. There was something between them building.

He was serious. Over the last couple of years, he had lost interest in all of the things that used to drive him. Cassandra sparked his interest.
