Cassandra meets Roland, Lord Lambert rather unconventionally, which starts their relationship. They’re viewed as a beautiful, golden couple amongst the ton but she’s not feeling it. When his father makes those comments about her being more suited to be his wife instead of his son, what opinions did you start to form?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments They were discussing her marital prospects right in front of her. How rude! I wasn't impressed by either father or son.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments It was obvious that any woman would be a possession to these men. I thought the senior Lambert was a sleaze and his son was on his way to being a bigger sleaze.

Agree with you both. I got a sense of foreboding after this scene, not trusting the son anymore than I would his despicable father.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Their first meeting, the way she saw he had had a wardrobe malfunction. I thought their meet-cute was cute. With this scene I also had some grave misgivings about Roland.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments After listening to both of them discuss who would win Cassandra, I thought both of these guys were jerks. She was standing right there while they were discussing her like she was a prized racehorse. Up to that point, I didn't have a problem with your Lambert. Now I didn't like either him or his father.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I thought she should stay far away from both of these men. I agree, Robin. Up to this point, I didn't have a problem with Lambert either.

There’s something about how the son might not fall from the tree of the father that put me off here.
