Anita Pomerantz | 9280 comments The Final Four are:

Barbara Kingsolver vs. Alice Hoffman

and

Kazuo Ishiguro vs. Jane Austen

**Just a reminder that no more participation points may be earned, but if you read a book by the winner at any point in time this year, you will get bonus participation points. So if you haven't read these four authors, there's still time.**

LibraryCin | 11681 comments Good thing I'm not (read: can't!) going for participation points because I've not (at least not yet) read any of the top 4 this year! I really only have 1 book by Ishiguro (just added in the past couple of weeks) on my tbr!

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11067 comments I read all 4 of these authors this year so I’m just about done. I’m still reading two authors that were knocked out of the game.

Has anyone read all 64 of the original authors? Not this year, but at any time in your life?

One of the current matches will be very easy for me, but the other will hurt because I love them both for different reasons.

Olivermagnus (lynda11282) | 4767 comments My goal for this year's challenge was to read every eligible author in every round. I did a massive Readathon in the 64 round but it got easier in every subsequent round. I've already completed the four author bracket because my reading is going to be curtailed for awhile. I just completed my road trip from Michigan to Chattanooga, Tennessee to buy a 14 week old Australian Terrier. We missed having a dog in our life since we lost Oliver last November. After picking him up we drove him to his new home here in Goodyear, Arizona. His name is Stanley. We thought because we had an Oliver we might as well have a (Stan and Ollie). I forgot how much work a puppy is.........

Congratulations on the new puppy! That’s a great name choice.

It’s amazing that you read all 64 authors in the first round.

Jgrace | 3937 comments A puppy ! Congratulations! But an Aussie, oh my. My sadly missed Tiger and Cookie were Corgi/Australian Shepherd. Very, Very active dogs. It worked for us because my son was 10 years old when we got them. Much as I'd love to have another corgi, I couldn't do it now.
You have your work cut out for you. (Maybe you could rent a 10 year old) Good luck! Have fun!

Karin | 9216 comments Congrats on the puppy!

My sister had a toy or miniature Australian shepherd who is now a very old dog and permanently visiting my geriatric parents. Her name is Lucy, rarely barks, is sensitive to people's moods and if I could find a dog with her personality that I am not allergic to, I'd get one.

Theresa | 15522 comments BookConcierge and I had lunch here in Deadwood, SD today. It was good and we heard tgere some good local singer songwriters in a western songwriters festival happening this week.

Olivermagnus - did Stan tell you he and Ollie had a pub together?
