Place to discuss my monthly hidden gem *squee* Sorta Like a Rock Star Sorta Like a Rock Star by Matthew Quick

Like I said previously, Heidi, you are definitely a Rock star! I was bored out of my skull on the first few chapters, but then THAT turning point! It was worth the mind-numbing snoozefest!

I enjoyed the last part so much that my rating went from 1 star to 5 stars and finished listening to the audio into the wee hours of the night(or morning if we are being technical). Any book that can make me cry is totally worth the read. True? true!

I'm glad you picked this as a hidden gem and i will definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good read. Word!

Yay! As I said Bluemoon, I too felt like quitting this book in the beginning. I was like what is with all this slang and this super annoying chick?? As soon as I hit the (view spoiler) everything changed and I was hooked! I loved the ending too.

Yay! Phew. I feel better now that I know a few of you liked it.

I read this quite a while ago and I honestly don't remember what it is about. I gave it 4 stars so I liked it somewhat. I remember I had problems with the book, but I can't remember what. Do you think I should reread it?

Gabrielle I am guessing you had issues with the protagonist in the beginning as she was quite annoying. Up to you if you want to re-read it :) If you want some spoilers about the book I would be happy to give them to you!

GABRIELLE: I had issues with it too and it was the beginning, like Heidi said, but it got better after half way into the book. You might want to try the audio version, if you are planning on re-reading it.

Hey guys I know it's already May, but I didn't end up rereading it and I ended up loving it. I think I did have the same issues, they are not that big of a deal as I thought before.

Kaylani (cityeclectics) | 277 comments I stopped right before part 2 last time I read it. I will probably start part 2 tonight.

Kaylani (cityeclectics) | 277 comments I really hated Amber Appleton at the beginning of the book. But the more the book goes on the more I like her and her character progression. I LOVE Ricky.
