Emilio Testa kidnapped and held Gina and Molly captive in Indonesia on behalf of someone else. According to him, they were holding his wife. Did you believe him?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I did believe him.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Yes, I believed him.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9278 comments Mod
I couldn’t imagine him lying about something like this and believed him. He was such a liar.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments No. We are told that Emilio only married 10 years ago so he would not have a son old enough to have a child.

This entire kidnapping scenario was illogical from the get go. Nothing Emilio did or said made any sense.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I believed him. I could see the people who wanted Grady would also hold a family hostage to manipulate them to do what they wanted.

Robin I thought the son was from a previous marriage or relationship.

Later in the story, Jules discovered that this was his one and only marriage. That was his wife and son in his home, not his daughter-in-law.

Was this ever stated in the book? I don't remember anything other than they disappeared with crowbar guy and we never heard about them again.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9278 comments Mod
It was in one of Jules’ narratives after he reviewed the research on Emilio.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Ok. Thanks.

Lauren, it was two sentences buried in another train of thought. I was annoyed.

That's probably why I missed it. I also might not have been paying that much attention as this point as I was so confused by all the whiplash twists.
