I couldn’t imagine him lying about something like this and believed him. He was such a liar.

No. We are told that Emilio only married 10 years ago so he would not have a son old enough to have a child.

This entire kidnapping scenario was illogical from the get go. Nothing Emilio did or said made any sense.

I believed him. I could see the people who wanted Grady would also hold a family hostage to manipulate them to do what they wanted.

Robin I thought the son was from a previous marriage or relationship.

Later in the story, Jules discovered that this was his one and only marriage. That was his wife and son in his home, not his daughter-in-law.

Was this ever stated in the book? I don't remember anything other than they disappeared with crowbar guy and we never heard about them again.

It was in one of Jules’ narratives after he reviewed the research on Emilio.
