October is here so let’s read this popular spooky read!
I’ve seen a lot of the sequels to this book around so I’m interested in seeing how the first book in the series is.

@Kelly I’ve heard of that book and I had no idea she wrote that one too either! That’s quite a variation in genres that she writes.
@Patricia I’m glad to hear it! Horror actually isn’t a genre I usually bother to read or even enjoy but I’m intrigued by this one because it’s well-known so I’d like to give it a try. Just need to get myself a copy and I’m planning to start it after I finish my current read so probably like next week or something.

But I really like it and I'm looking forward to everyone's opinions.

Even for a MG book I found it creepy. I came to the climax around 2am. I’m in my locked, alarmed, presumably safe house, husband sleeping upstairs, pitbull in my lap, boa constrictor in tank behind me. I shouldn’t have a lack of security, you’d think. And yet I still got the shivers a couple times and definitely was a touch nervous to get up and go to bed (as it meant moving from couch).
Absolutely loved it!!
Hope others are enjoying!

I've been listening to it on my work commutes and the other day listened on the way home from a soccer game at night, with my daughter in the front seat. We had a few moments of looking at each other with terror in our eyes! ;-)
I'm really enjoying this one.

The entire feel of the book was appropriately creepy for this age group, perfect for my 11-year-old daughter.
