This challenge is meant to help you climb your TBR Mountain and get those books finally read.

This will be a quarterly challenge, with a new theme each quarter.

For Quarter 4, 2022, I felt that we needed to do something in honor of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second

For this you will need to be creative!!!!
There are many different options
• Any books with Elizabeth as a character or author
• Maybe the 'second' of anything. Second in a series, second you have read by that author, second chance romance, second son…..
• In honor of the 70 years on the throne, or her 96 years on earth it could be your 70th or 96th book on your TBR (or your 30th book - because she had 30 corgis during her life…be creative!)
• Anything involving dogs or horses, given her love of these
• Any books involving royalty
• Use the letters H(er) M(ajesty), Q(ueen) E(lizabeth) the S(econd)
• Any books with Queens (royal or otherwise, think LGBTQ)

Choose 5 books using the theme above, or just pick any title off your TBR just because. As usual - there are no rules.....Have fun!

This is flexible and the purpose is to get some books moved from TBR to Read shelf, so have has much fun with this theme as you want:

HOW IT WORKS:
1) The first poster will post 5 book titles that they pick from their TBR shelf.

2) The next poster will choose 2 books from the first poster's titles and choose 5 book titles off their own TBR. The first poster will then choose to read at least 1 of the 2 books chosen.

3) The third poster will choose 2 from the second posters list .... and so on.

4) Each participant will have the entire quarter to read their book(s), post their rating and review. And tell us what you think of your book in this thread.

5) You are not limited to 1 time. You can return to select and post more options as often as it suits you

As usual I will kick this off

My 5 picks are:
The Switch by Lyndsay Sands – character called Elizabeth
A Reckless Match by Kate Bateman – 2(90)th on my TBR (I have a BIG TBR list) and #2 in a series
Lady Beauchamp's Proposal by Amy Rose Bennett (character called Elizabeth)
The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt (and apparently it features a dog)
In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster by Stephanie Laurens (because Laurens books generally involve horses, and ‘Eliza….’)

The only Chadwick I've read was The Falcons of Montabard, and it was really good. I must read more of her books.

jenny867 | 59 comments Hello! I am late to the party this quarter, so hopefully someone else wants to join in and pick for me. :)

My choices:

Lord of Darkness by Elizabeth Hoyt (author's name)
Her Royal Payne by Shana Galen ("royal" in title)
Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas (heroine loves animals, so I'm assuming there will be at least one dog or horse)
Libertine's Kiss by Judith James (heroine's name is Elizabeth, book takes place at court)
My Darling Duke by Stacy Reid (second book on my TBR)

I have read both my picks:
Lyndsay Sands The Switch - 3 stars. It was a bit silly and unbelievable for me (and got a bit tiresome). Not sure she is the author for me
A Reckess Match by Kate Bateman - 3.5 stars

I then read another from my list 'Lady Beauchamps Proposal' by Amy Rose Bennett. I really enjoyed it, so read next in the series 'The Ice Duchess'. Also good. I have now reserved another of her books from the library, Always good to find a new author you like.

Her Royal Payne, and
My Darling Duke

Happy reading!

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1215 comments I read the second book Forbidden by Helen Kirkman.
I found this a hard read . Have this also for Mad About A Series Challenge . I have been putting off reading the second in the series. Here hoping it will be a better read.

T. Rosado (trosado) | 193 comments I finished one of my books for this quarter - Fair, Bright, and Terrible and loved it. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish the second book before the end of the year. Looking forward to next year if we continue.
