Here's our schedule for our fall 2022 Youth Services programming:
Join us for 20 minutes of caregiver and baby fun and bonding with books, bounces, songs, and rhymes followed by unstructured play-and-read time. Designed for 0-23 months. Space is limited to 10 babies. Registration is required.
September 12- October 3, October, 24 - November 21
Mondays: Onalaska Library at 12 pm
Designed for our friends who are age two with lots of caregiver participation, each themed program lasts about 20 minutes and is filled with books, songs, wiggles, and action rhymes. Registration is required. Space limited to 15 toddlers.

Our preschool story times are great for kids ages 3-6 with a caregiver and include stories, songs, meaningful movement, and rhymes. These 20-to-30-minute story times support the development of early literacy skills and empower our young library friends for a lifelong love of learning! Registration is encouraged.

Visit us at the library for fun weekly reading challenges. Earn a surprise, and add LEGO bricks to our Community Build project in the library.

Join us for colorful, messy fall fun with a special Messy Kids Art—outdoor Chalk the Walk! Great for all youth. We’ll chalk the walk with messy chalk concoctions—ice chalk, chalk paint, and more. All events run 4:30-5:30pm. This special drop-in Messy Kids activity requires no registration and will be held as long as weather allows.

Have you ever wanted a closer view of outer space? Now is your chance to safely view the sun, nearby planets, and other terrestrial objects through telescopes with La Crosse Area Astronomical Society! All ages are invited to stop by and take a look.
In the event of bad weather, this event will be held indoors.

Dr. Frank N. Stein is one of the world’s most famous scientists. Along with his trusty assistant, Igor, Dr. Stein has created some of the world’s most amazing inventions! But those inventions would be nothing without YOUR imagination.
It will take Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to make his latest masterpiece come to life! This show helps students learn why STEM subjects are so important to the modern world while opening up an exciting world of STEM discovery.

Saturday, October 29 @ 10 am Onalaska Public Library
Join us on a journey down the Mississippi River on a search for the Blues. On the way we find a variety of characters who represent various music genres. Listeners will be introduced to the oboe, English horn, and 4 different saxophones!
This program introduces young (and young at heart) listeners to a variety of musical genres including baroque, classical, blues, and jazz, as Paul & Babe travel down the Mississippi learning about a number of geographical locations. Paul and Babe create a desire to listen and connect characters through musical theme identification. There are many opportunities with this program to expand the mind while hearing fun and exciting music and meeting many new instruments!
When: Saturday, November 5 @ 10 am Onalaska Public Library
Teens in grades 6 - 12…Looking for a place to recharge? Do some homework? Enjoy some snacks? If you're into hands-on projects, music, new teen books, or just chilling out, drop in for Teen Time. No registration required. Sign up for a door prize while you're there!
