The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group discussion

i read this book around 9 years ago i can't remember the title or the author but if i remember correctly the person who recommended me the book told me the author also is famous as the japanese version of franz kafka the book had multiple stories but the main one was about a man who one morning woke up and suddenly find some strangers in his home and no matter how much he tried to kick them out he couldn't and they talked about how the living room is theirs now and although he tried so hard to make other people understand his situation no one believed him even his girlfriend and i remember they even threatened him to stop telling people they took his home and if i'm not mistaken befriending his surrounding and they found nothing wrong with the stanger family living in his home out of nowhere and in the end they even could persuade him what is happening is actually ok and legal.
