The Andromeda has been traveling for close to 304 Earth days, when it begins to experience a number of strange events. While this baffles experienced members of the crew, it frightens civilians and begins a spur of panic as the occupants realize that they're not alone in this undocumented sector of the States. Technical malfunctions, spontaneous sicknesses, and eerie transmission force the crew to consider that they may have been infiltrated by something that has been here far longer than they realize.
