I just read the first 3 chapters, and so far so good!
@cat will read my 3 chapters tonight! Are you fine with me posting my summaries of chapters in this thread so I can remember what I read?
@cat I ended up falling asleep last night so I will finish the book tomorrow and then start those chapters tomorrow as well!
I'm starting up chapter 4 as we speak.... it's been a crazy day, my dad's sick so I've been trying to take care of him

Chapter 1- Lily Bloom is only 23 years old and had to speak at her fathers funeral today. Lily's mom had asked her to speak in front of everyone but Lily wasn't close to her father because he was very abusive. Lily didn't have one good thing to say about her father. Once the funeral ends, she is on top of her sisters and her husband's roof top building because she needed some time to gather her thoughts. Well so much for that idea because once she is sitting on top of the ledge of the building.. a guy walks up to the roof and is angry and starts kicking the patio furniture around. As Lily sits there and is watching this guy.. he slowly sees that he is not the only one on top of the roof top and starts making conversations with Lily. His name is Ryle and he is a very handsome neurosurgeon. Apparently Ryle and Lily haven't had the best day at all. Ryle just witnessed a year old boy killed because their parents left a loaded gun in reach of a child and the younger boy pulled the trigger and it killed him. It was already too late the little year old boy was dead. Well as they talk with each other and try relax... Ryle finds Lily very attractive and starts eyeing her and asking her all these questions about moments in her life which she is not shy to share with him. She doesn't even know this stranger but she is over here talking to Ryle that out of no where is on a work break and comes out blunt and wants to fuck Lily. Well Ryle and Lily are totally different people. Ryle is a guy who will never marry or have children because all he wants is one night stands. Lily has NEVER had a one night stand and is not into that type of stuff. But he decides that he is going to experiment and try and touch her body while they are the only ones on top of the rooftop building.... his phone rings and all the sudden he is needed so he has stop and leave her behind... He will never see her again but no that he took a picture of her.... she is creeped out now.
Chapter 2- Lily and Lucy are back at their apartment together and while she was back home. Lily brought home her old shoe boxes so she could go through and in those contain some memories. Lucy is Lily’s roommate and her roommate is gone all the time, so Lily has times where she has time to herself. Her mom calls her right as she is going through boxes and her mom apologizes to her because she knew they it was hard for Lily to give the speech at the funeral. But her mom is not upset that she didn’t speak but her mom will be home alone for the first time since her husband died. Lily’s father had cancer and it was very hard to be close to her dad. Nothing nice to say about that man. But as she looks through these boxes she finds her old journal entries and while she reads she finds a letter saying how back when she lived at home she has seen this guy named Atlas living in that abandoned house behind her parents house. She would see him walk inside the house from her window and this house has no water, electricity anything….. it’s creepy and he smells so bad but he does ride the same bus as her….. but one day after school he allows him to come inside to take a shower. But her parents where are home and she was alone in the house with him… her stents would be pissed if they found out she allowed him to do this. But now as she lives the future, Lily had moved from Massachusetts to Boston so she could move away from her mom. But now her mom wants to move to Boston and live in the same city as her daughter. Lily doesn’t know how she feels about that….

Chapter 3- Lily's mother ends up moving to Boston as well. Lily is not happy about it but she thinks it's because she is lonely being up in Massachusetts by herself since her husband died. Well Lily's dream has always been to open up her own floral shop. So she spent her WHOLE inheritance and bought a business building so she could start working her way and making her dream come true. Lily's mom thinks that has long as she makes the business worth it, she will have no issues making her own money. Lily has also majored in business so that should also help her out as well. Lily's mother works at the elementary school and she bought herself a house down in Boston. She no longer works for the multimillion dollar marketing firm anymore. She is now using her own skills to open up her own business. So the building Lily had bought was a old run down restaurant that has alot of work to be done, but Lily can use this time to make sure she can arrange things the way she wants. So a lady who is walking outside sees the help wanted sign and her name is Allysa. She slowly introduces herself and she is asking if Lily needs any help. Lily is not anywhere close to being able to pay someone to help her yet. Allysa is hired on for $10 a hour and these two girls are starting to game plan ideas so that when they are ready to clear things up... they can add things here and there. Well Lily gets busy stacking crates together and she ends up spraining her ankle so Allysa has to call her husband and her brother to come help and bring a bag of ice so they can see if Lily's ankle is broken. Well once she figures that Allysa has a husband and brother... she is shocked when she sees that Ryle is related to Allysa. Things can't get anymore awkward than they already are. Secretly they already know each other from when they had talked on top of his sister's roof top 6 months ago after her dad died. Ryle helps wrap Lily's ankle and it's a good thing that Lily hired Allysa to help her because now she can't walk on her ankle for a few days. But Marshall and Allysa walk in on the wrong time when Ryle admits that he still wants to fuck Lily and now Allysa is embarassed because her brother is talking sexual to her boss. But Ryle and Marshall were down at the bar drinking while watching the football game so they both are a little drunk. So now that Lily has time off... Ryle is agreeing that since she is not into one ngiht stands that it's probably best if they don't socialize with each other. They like each other but they both want different things in life and it's just not going to work out between them. So since Lily works with Allysa, will these two be able to stay away from each other or not? Allysa knows her brother will forever be single because all he cares about is sex and she thinks he is an asshole. Lily has to drive home and get herself in her apartment on a sprained ankle.
I feel so bad for Lily. I will say so far I'm not a fan of Ryle.... he makes things sooo awkward and I have a feeling that he is going to take advantage of her either way since he finds her so attractive. I really hope not.... But Lily is doing a wonderful job at achieving her dreams.
Chapter 4- Lily has just made it to her apartment and she calls her roommate Lucy to help her but she doesn't answer her phone like she always does. So Lily walks up to the apartment and she is not happy when she sees Lucy laying on the couch in the apartment on the phone with Alex. So Lily immediately walks to her room after she tells her roommate that she sprained her ankle. Well since she has this whole week off, lily can now catch up on reading those letters to Ellen. Well in those letters Atlas and Lily got along very well with each other. Atlas knew that Lily was into gardening and he had given her a bag of gardening tools and Lily was surprised to see that from him. Lily had invited Atlas into their house several times but she can't be seen with another male in the house alone without her parents home. Atlas ends up watching the TV show with Lily and in one of the letters Lily's parents had gotten into a bad fight, and Lily hated it when her parents were fighting all the time. She never approved of her mother being with him, but she had to live with it. Well one night when Lily's father gets home from working at his bar job, Lily sees the marks on her moms face where he had smacked her on the face and pushed her down to the ground. Lily had went to check on her mom, but Lily's mom said she was fine and told her daughter to go to her room but instead she sat outside talking with Atlas.
Chapter 5- A couple days pass and Ryle was correct about Lily's ankle taking a few days to full heal so she can walk on it again. It's the first day that she has felt good enough to walk on the ankle, so she goes into the floral shop and she is very impressed to see Allysa already working and the things she has done already... makes the floral shop already look 100% better. Allysa and Marshall have thrown out all the trash and the floors are mopped... Now she is going to help out and try and work on business stuff like paint and everything so they can get this floral shop open in 2 months! Lily is exhausted from working and cleaning all day that she is sitting on the couch in her apartment and she gets a knock on her door and she sees that Ryle is at her front door. She is very confused on why he is knocking on her door and how he found out where she lives..... Lily is not showered and she doesn't look presentable... Lucy is at Alex's house and he will not leave until she answers the door. But Ryle is pissed off and just got off work and he is begging for Lily to have sex with him so he can stop thinking about her. Ryle will not have a relationship with her because they both want different things in life. Lily is not happy and she asks him to leave but he will NOT leave the apartment until she ends up having sex with him. But I agree with Lily... It's going to be harder for him to leave her alone if they have sex because he will continue to ask her for more one night stands. So pretty much Lily says that she will have sex with him AFTER she takes a shower and makes herself look presentable. She has taken 1 hour to get ready and when she gets herself out of the shower... she is trying to talk herself out of it but he is passed the fuck out in her bed. She tries to wake him up and he won't wake up.. So now they end up not having sex but she takes a picture of them laying in bed together and with her cleavage hanging out so he will remember this night.... She doesn't care if she wakes him up while she is getting herself ready for bed... but what happens when he wakes up the next morning is late for work, and he has to wake her up early just to apologize to her and promise himself that this wont happen again and that he will not ask to have sex with her again. Lily is not a morning girl at all, but she also knows herself better than anyone and knows that he will beg from her again... She has her own goals to achieve as well but this will be the last time they see each other. So she makes her way to the floral shop to get a head start on things.
I feel like Lily is very focused on what she wants out of life, I'm so glad she was able to open up the flower shop that she has always dreamed about!

Chapter 6- Ryle and Lily have decided that they are going to stop seeing each other since they want two different things in life. It's been a total of 53 days since Ryle has stopped texting, and running into her in public. Also 53 days since he left Lily's apartment after sleeping in her bed when they were suppose to fuck. Lily and Allysa have got this floral shop ready for opening and have done everything to make sure this is the most wonderful day for the both of them. Allysa and Lily are on their first day of opening the floral shop and they have just been waiting for them to have their first customer.... But their first customer was not who they expected it to be. Ryle had just walked in and had bought flowers for Lily. Allysa has invited Lily to her birthday party this friday and Ryle is asking Lily if she is going but she doesn't know how to respond to this question.
Chapter 7- Devin and Lily are about to get ready to go to Allysa's birthday party together. Lily doesn't want to go alone because she knows Ryle will be there and she don't want him to flirt with her the whole night and try and have sex with her the whole night. Devin is a friend of Lily's that she worked with at the marketing firm with. Devin is gay and he had agreed to go to the party and act like Lily's sex partner to make Ryle jealous. Devin doesn't realize that Ryle literally wants to have sex with Lily. They arrive at the party and Allysa is already half way drunk when she is pulling Lily inside and making her have a glass of champagne. They literally own the whole top floor of an apartment building and the whole place is crowded with people. Has to be more than 100 people at this party. The whole time Devin is mingling around talking to people and Lily is following behind because as she is scanning the room, she is trying to make sure she doesn't run into Ryle. They have catered food for the party and Lily is so far so good, hasn't seen Ryle since she arrived but she knows as she spots a picture hung on the wall she is freaked out because they originally met 6 months ago. Lily gets pissed off because she is confused on what Ryle wants. He says he wants her for sex, but when they have a one on one conversation- he says that he wants to change his ways and be the person that Lily wants in a man. He is attracted to her and in order to prove himself to Lily, Ryle is not going to have sex with her because he respects and will do anything to show Lily that he means he wants more than just a one night stand with her. So as she is getting fresh air on the building rooftop, Ryle comes up to her and asks if they can have some time alone. This is where Lily stands her ground and yells at Ryle and talks some sense into him because Lily is right.... he needs to make up his mind... getting mad because she showed up with Devin, and getting pissed off because he has a picture hung in the apartment of her, that's creepy when they aren't even a couple. Lily is not going to give in to him just because he wants her for sex.... he is going to have to show her that he is serious about this. Well right as she is about to leave the party with Devin, Ryle comes up and swoops her off her feet and he carries her through the party and immediately goes straight to his room with her. Everyone at the party is staring now because Ryle is making a fool of himself all because he wants to prove himself to Lily that he wants a serious relationship with her. Allysa doesn't know that Ryle and Lily have already met 6 months ago, and when the girls get talking.... she is very shocked because Allysa knows her brother is only into one night stands and she doesn't want Lily to get her heart broken. Ryle and Lily end up sleeping together in bed that night and she is very impressed because they didn't have sex at all. They kissed for the first time last night after meeting 6 months ago. So the next morning, they both have work to get to, but since Ryle is a neurosurgeon... he has a really big surgery that he has to prepare for so he will not be home much the next couple days... well her floral shop has grand opening on Friday... Allysa talks to Lily and is warning her that her brother isn't the best at relationships but Lily is aware of that and appreciates that she is on the look out and watching her back. In the meantime, the apartment is spotless clean when they wake up, Allysa and Marshall make pretty decent money and are filthy rich.... Ryle makes good money as well.... They hire people for everything and it must be nice to live that live but at the same time... it expensive to hire people for everything. How will Lily be able to handle this? Is Ryle serious about this relationship between them?
Chapter 8- Lucy is sitting on the couch when Lily gets home and Lucy her roommate has something very important to tell Lily. Lilly can see that Lucy has been crying alot because her mascara is smearing all down her cheeks and she thinks Alex (Lucy's boyfriend) broke up with her but Lucy and Alex are engaged now! Lily is very shocked when she hears this news and is happy for her roommate but she is sad because they have 6 more months on the lease and Alex wants Lucy to move in with him but she doesn't want to leave Lily high and dry. Lily is not mad at all that her roommate is leaving because she has this whole apartment to herself and she can do whatever she wants now that she doesn't have a roommate. So Lucy goes back over to her fiancés house to let him know that Lily doesn't care if she moves out and that she can move in with him. Well she gets alone time and she decides that she is going to start reading some more letters from Ellen. Atlas grew up neglected and his new step father and him never got along and always got in fights so that's why he lives in the house by himself. He has tried to apply for jobs and has tried to make his life better now that he is 18 years old.... but he doesn't have a phone or anything so his boss wouldn't be able to get a hold of him. He has tried homeless shelters and he doesn't like that. But Lily's father was very abusive and one day her mom had come home early because it was snowing outside and she wanted to make sure her drive was okay since the weather was bad. But Lily's father's car was always in the garage and just didn't give a shit about her mom. Treated her mom like crap and Lily realized that after she tried to stop her dad from choking her mom half to death..... her mom chose to stay with him... well her father threw her to the ground and left Lily's forehead busted open. Like what parents would throw their child to the floor and then just get in a car and leave.... Her dad is a real piece of crap and I would have been pissed with my mom for staying with a man like that as well... But Atlas and Lily were into gardening together and Lily has given Atlas so much that she has physically seen how he lives and with it being winter outside and snowing... he had invited him to sleep on the floor in her parents house in her room so he would at least have a warm place to sleep.

Chapter 9- Lily is relaxing in her apartment reading journal entries when she thinks back to how things were when she lived back at her parents house. How her mom could stand being tolerated and treated horribly from Lily's father. Right as she gets off the phone with her mom, Ryle is just getting off work from a huge 18 hour surgery that he assisted with. He is exhausted and he came over to her apartment because he tends to sleep better when he is next to Lily. Lily has offered to make him some food, but he is just wanting some sleep. But once Lily gives him a massage then things change and they are both wanting sex. Ryle has a condom on and she is fine with having sex with Ryle. Lily warned him that once they have sex, it would be hard for Ryle not to beg her to have sex again. They aren't dating yet, but they are taking things slow to see if this is what they want. Lily has never had sex like this before and she can barely stand it because she likes it. How will they both feel once this is done?
Chapter 10- Allysa and Lily are standing in the coffee shop getting flowers ready for delivery. Lily is a hard core fan of giving money to charities for the people who are less fortunate. So she asked Allysa if her and her husband gave money to charities since they make alot of money. Lily wants to have the floral shop have a charity so people can use money to that. But I think Allysa is right.. they need to focus on this huge grand opening this Friday. Lily knows that her and Marshall have money and the only reason Allysa is working for the floral shop is because she can't stay at home and she is trying to keep herself busy since her and Marshall have been trying to have a baby for 2 years now but they haven't had luck. So Ryle had sent her some flowers again and as she is just about to leave the shop for the day since she is going to dinner with her mom tonight. Well Ryle messages her and Ryle wants to take Lily out to dinner tonight so he asks if he can come to the dinner with her. Lily is very shocked because Ryle wants to meet Lily's mom and they aren't even a couple yet. Allysa finds that weird coming from her brother as well. Allysa says that is not like Ryle at all inviting himself to places. Lily agrees that it would be okay for Ryle to come with her to the dinner. As she closes the store, they end up riding together in her car to the restaurant and this is a new restaurant that they haven't been to yet. Lily's mom is already seated at the table waiting on Lily., but is very shocked when she sees that Ryle has came along with her. But the minute the waiter comes and asks for the drink order..... Lily has been acting very weird the whole night. She instantly thinks that it's Atlas. She excuses herself to the restroom to gather herself together and Ryle and her mom are noticing that the whole time she is acting very strange. But Ryle seems to be getting along and talking very well with her mom. So after dinner, Ryle takes a Uber back into town and has to go back to his apartment because he has another surgery really early in the morning. Well as Ryle walks off, she is about to get in her car when Atlas is standing outside by her car. She is shocked when she finds him standing there and is not happy when she finds out that Atlas is now moved on and has a girlfriend of his own. Atlas ended up going into the military for 8 years and ever since then, they have not talked since then. Lily shouldn't be upset that Atlas has moved on. Ryle doesn't know this Atlas guy but now Lily is shaken up and she knows she WILL NOT be eating at that restaurant anymore. Lily is shaken up really bad after seeing Atlas 8 years later.
Chapter 11- Lily gets back in her apartment from dinner. Ryle had went back to his apartment so as she is getting herself ready for bed, she decides that she is going to ready some journal entries before she goes to bed. So pretty much in those journal entries it talked about how Atlas and Lily used to be extremely close to each other and Atlas had feelings for Lily and Lily had feelings for Atlas. Everyday once they had gotten home from school, they would hang out together and they had watched TV shows until her parents got home. Well Atlas was living in the abandoned house behind them so at night she would invite Atlas to sleep on the floor in her bedroom so he wouldn't have to sleep out in the cold. Well Atlas had been throwing up all night and Lily had taken care of him but the morning her mom came in, she lied and said she was sick so she didn't have to go to school but Lily still went anyway. But what happens when Lily gets the news that he had gotten a hold of his uncle in Boston and he offered Atlas to come live with him. At that point Atlas and Lily had a little relationship and he didn't want to leave her but at the same time once she was ready to move out and start college... she would be old enough to make her own decisions. Her parents get into a really bad fight one night as they get home from a charity dinner. Well Lily can hear everything that goes on and Lily's father was drunk and was raping her mother and Lily heard everything and Lily was about to stab her dad but Atlas grabbed Lily and that's when her mom saw that Atlas was in her room but she didn't care... Just looking at her moms face you could tell that he had smacked her and was pulling her hair out... etc. Lily is seriously worried about her mom and Atlas tries to go and call the cops but Lily's mom will not let them because it will make the whole situation worse. In the town of Maine, Lily's dad is the mayor and he doesn't want to ruin is good reputation that he has with everyone in town. So officially after this night, Atlas chooses that he is going to live with his Uncle is Boston. But once she is of age, she will choose to go to college because Atlas thinks that once she is in the same city, everything will be so much better for them both. Lily has never had a serious relationship before and she is very sad to see him go but at the same time she is happy for him.
Chapter 12- Lily and Allysa had just opened up the floral shop because today is the grand opening. This is the day they both have been waiting for. Lily opens the floral shop 15 minutes early and they both didn't expect for them to be slammed busy already with phone calls, internet orders, and walk ins. Allysa has not been feeling the greatest for a while so this morning she took a pregnancy test and she finally found answers to why she hasn't been feeling good. The test was positive and after they have been trying and trying now Marshall will find out after they all go celebrate and have drinks at the bar since the Bruins play. Lily had made a bouquet of flowers that has been selling like crazy so she has to find out how she is going to make those orders. The whole day Lily and Allysa had no lunch break and Lily knows that she is going to have to hire more employees because 2 people are not going to do the job. So Lily had a very successful day. But as she closes the shop, Ryle is the only one that hasn't showed up yet, or texted her and asked how her day was. Marshall is the one who brought the onesies so they could all get free beer at the bar. But that's also when Lily finds out how she met Marshall and he finds out that he is going to be a dad. Ryle is very shocked when he finds out, and he shows up right as they close for the day. Ryle is going to b a uncle and Allysa hopes that Ryle and Lily have kids if the relationship lasts. Marshall and Allysa met at a party that she had when they lived back at home. Their parents were out of town for the weekend and Allysa didn't know she had major feelings for Marshall till he was hanging all over other girls and Allysa started getting jealous. So throughout the night, Lily is hearing stories after stories about how they all grew up as siblings. Well they were suppose to be a 3 sibling family but there older brother died when they were younger. But come to the fact, Ryle and Allysa are close as siblings and Lily and Ryle are extremely happy for them both! Once the game is over, they head back to the shop so they can drive home, but Ryle has had some wine, and he ends up coming home with Lily. They show up right when Lucy is packing up her stuff and Lily finds that Lucy is taking some of Lily's things and now Lily's gets pissed off and Ryle is wondering who the hell that is. Well Lucy doesn't seem to like Ryle but as they both make their way to Lily's bedroom. Ryle throws Lily against the wall and is telling her not to move so he can pleasure her. But it's just the alcohol that is making him act very rough with her.
@cat right back at you girl!!! Igggh crying so hard right now because after trying and trying in real life and you are successful, I would be jumping for joy! I am happy for Marshall and Allysa!
Chapter 13- Lily is working late as she is trying to work on online orders and set everything up. Ryle has gotten off work and he wants to meet her at her place but since she is still at work, she meets him there. Some days at the floral shop are busier than others and sometimes Lily doesn’t need Allysa everyday. Slowly but surely Lily has been deciding the floral shop and Ryle is impressed when he walks in and sees her office decorated. But as she is working Ryle is telling Lily that he really likes her more than he thought he did. This is Ryle’s first real relationship and he doesn’t want to ruin this. But apparently once she finishes her business they end up having sex on her work couch. He is over here using his stethoscope to listen to her heart rate as they are stripping naked. Once they are satisfied his mom ends up calling him and Ryle doesn’t answer because he is with Lily. Allysa has talked about their family a little bit but Ryles mom doesn’t visit very often but she already knows about Lily because Ryle can’t stop talking about her. They have only been dating a few months and she is just now hearing that next time Ryle and Allysa fly to England to see her mom…. She will be coming along since his mom wants to meet her. Ryle has a really good relationship with his mom and apparently there older brother Emerson who died….. Lily doesn’t know what happened but Ryle doesn’t like to talk about it and he gets upset when others ask what happened. Of course Ryles dad is a physiatrist so that’s where Ryle gets his medical field from. Both Ryle and his dad are very smart men. But Ryle was right when he said that his mom had left a voicemail talking about how Lily was and asking about how her son was doing. Lily didn’t think Ryle would have said anything to his mom already but he did….
Chapter 14- Ryle calls Lily right when she is in the process of making dinner. Ryle and Lily were going to spend time together and Lily was going to help Ryle study. He took the day off and Lily's shop doesn't open until 1pm so drunk sex, drunk everything tonight since he brought over 2 bottles of VINTAGE wine. Right as she is putting the meal in the oven, Ryle walks in her apartment and she is butt naked in a apron just like she told Ryle that she would do. So Ryle bites her on the butt and the whole time he is trying to get her worked up and trying to get her to drink some wine while the food cooks. So they are celebrating because Ryle is about to become an Uncle, and Ryle has a huge and very rare surgery he will be helping with on Monday. He will be helping with a surgery involving conjoined twins. Dinner is in the oven and Lily's mother calls and asks what she is doing tonight but Ryle gets out of the shower right as Lily is talking to her mom. But apparently Ryle and Lily are taking Allysa and Marshall out to eat to celebrate the news on the baby. Ryle wants to take them to the Bib's restaurant but that's where Atlas works.. Lily doesn't want to go but she doesn't know how to tell Ryle that her first guy she fell in love with works there. So time passes and Ryle and Lily get side tracked and they both forget that the casserole is in the oven. So Ryle's dumb ass takes the casserole out of the oven without a oven mitt and burns his hand that he uses for work. But during the whole process Ryle shoves her out of the way and now Ryle has dropped the glass pan all over the floor and Lily has a cut right by her eye where a piece of glass hit her. Ryle's hand is busted open because a piece of glass went through his palm so now they have a big mess to clean up. Lily gets in the shower and sees that she is covered in Ryle's blood all over her body. Ryle apologizes several times but Lily is starting to think that if he is going to treat her like that then she is not going to give him another chance after this. He threatens him and says if he pulls the same crap again, she is breaking up with him and they will be done for good. She doesn't want to be with a man who is going to treat a woman like his father did to her mom. Lily has now been promised that it won't happen again, and that Ryle wants to be there for Lily and support her happiness in life. They have finally said the words I love you to one another.
Chapter 15- Lily had arrived at the restaurant late because she had a customer walk in right as she was closing and order flowers for a funeral. Once she gets to the restaurant she makes her way to the table right as Allysa was talking about how Ryle told her what happened last night. Lily's eye is not as bad as yesterday but still when people see that they think something seriously happened to Lily. So so far there is no sign of Atlas but apparently since the waiter told the chef of the restaurant that they are celebrating the pregnancy the chef wants to allow them free desserts once they are finished eating. So the waiter and the chef come out to the table. Well apparently the chef of the restaurant is now Atlas and he owns the restaurant. Lily didn't think she was going to run into Atlas at all tonight but the minute they see each other... they lock eyes and Atlas gets pissed off when he sees the cut on Lily's eye and the bandage around Ryle's hand. Atlas used to be Lily's first love and Ryle has known that since Lily said something to him on the rooftop when they met. Lilys excuses herself to the bathroom and she knows that nothing can go well from here on out. So as soon as Lily is in the bathroom, Atlas follows behind her and stops her in the bathroom to find out what happened. Lily said it was an accident but Atlas knows that this is a lie and he wants the truth. So the whole time she is in the bathroom with Atlas... Ryle walks in and he sees her in the bathroom of the restaurant with Atlas. Ryle is pissed off and thinks that Lily was cheating on him but now that Ryle and Atlas are trying to fight each other... Lily understands that all this happened because of a misunderstanding and because of assumptions. So once they leave the restaurant, Lily drives back and it is completely silent. Ryle asks her questions and Lily answers truthfully. Ryle wants to know why she was in the bathroom alone with him.... Lily says that Atlas followed her and that he was worried about her because when he saw the cut on her eye at the table, he was thinking Ryle made that cut on Lily's eye. So as they talk it out, Ryle is forgiving and understands that Atlas was Lily's first love and they both grew up in abusive house holds and even though they are not a couple they will always be good friends. Ryle knew he shouldn't have gotten in a relationship with her but Lily has told him he can leave whenever he wants but he chooses to stay because he really loves her.
Chapter 16- Allysa and Lily are working the floral shop the next day when Lily starts talking about how she will not be going back to the restaurant because of what happened. Allysa doesn't understand what is going on and why Lily won't go back there. Ryle is in surgery but he still will text whenever he can. Lily checks her email and now she has a journalist wanting to write about the store. Allysa comes walking in and says that Atlas is in the store and wants to talk to her. Lily is not expecting him at all and is prepared for him to start an argument over what happened. Atlas comes to apologize for everything that happened and gives her a gift. Lily doesn't understand why Atlas is giving her gifts when he has a girlfriend and Lily has a boyfriend.... But Atlas feels like she should owe an apology and he writes his number on a sticky note and puts it in the back of her phone so if she ever needs it. Lily finds that weird and she knows that she will not need it because Atlas has moved on in life and so has Lily. But Allysa is confused and Lily doesn't want Allysa to say anything to Ryle because it will just cause a fight. Lily is trying to tell Allysa to knock if off by asking customers if they want a job. It's not professional and Lily will hire people when she is ready. So now what will happen as she opens the gift and sees that it's a book of Ellen's who she used to watch her TV show all the time when she lived back at her parents house.
Chapter 17- Lily has just gotten home from work and she is exhausted. Ryle will not be coming to the apartment because he is staying at the hospital overnight to make sure there are no complications with the big surgery he just worked on today. So Lily has her alone time and she still has one more letter she hasn't read from when she used to write Ellen. Pretty much it talked about how Atlas and Lily weren't dating but they had a super close relationship as friends. Atlas had moved to Boston with his Uncle because his mom abandoned him and he didn't have a place to stay in Maine. Atlas decided that he was going to go into the military and try and make his life better and then return to Boston and do his own thing. Lily had been caught in bed with Atlas and her father didn't get arrested at all for his odd behavior when he used a baseball bat and was hitting Atlas. Lily had moved to Boston while she was in college, and Atlas had his own life, and Lily had her own life going on. She misses Atlas but she loves Ryle just the same as she did Atlas.
Chapter 18- Lily is freaking out because she is worried that Ryle's mother and father will not like her. Ryle has talked good things about her to them and they have been praying that their son finds a woman like Lily. Lily and Ryle have been living with each other for the past 6 months and they aren't married but they are in a serious relationship. Ryle and Lily are standing in the door when their parents walk in and they are both excited to meet Lily. Allyssa and Lily get to talking as the boys are watching sports. Allysa has two more months of pregnancy and she can feel like baby moving and Allysa also has been praying that Ryle proposes to Lily. Lily is in no rush to get engaged and I think Ryle will ask when the time is right. But now that Allyssa is talking about how she can't wait till Ryle and her start to try for a kid.... little too soon for that. But every since Ryle has got in a relationship with Lily, he has thought everything through and everything he didn't want in life he wants now because he is serious about Lily. Ryle overhears the girls talking and Ryle and Lily are on the same page. If Ryle was to purpose to Lily right now, they would go to Vegas and get married!
Chapter 19- Lily is on the phone with her mom right as Ryle comes walking into the apartment just getting off work. Lily's mom is not sure is she is excited for Lily to get married to Ryle but it's too late and the decision is already final. Allyssa already bought the plane tickets. But her mom will forget about it and soon enough she will have grandkids to focus on. So Lily gets off the phone with her mom and before Lily and Ryle go have dinner with Allyssa and Marshall they both take a shower and hurry since they are already running late. Ryle and Lily are on the same page when it comes to kids and have discussed everything together. But Ryle gets pissed off because while Lily is in the shower, he sees Atlas phone number in the back of her phone so he gets pissed and starts throwing stuff. Doesn't give Lily a chance to explain but Ryle is accusing Lily that he has been seeing Atlas behind his back when that's not true. Lily told Ryle that he had came into the store to apologize after they had the fight in the restaurant. But now Lily has fell down the stairs and she has a concussion but she can't remember how she fell so she is accusing Ryle that he pushed her down the stairs. He now has to leave the apartment and all Lily can do is cry her eyes out. She is hurt and Ryle is hurt because he thinks that Lily has been cheating on Atlas.
Chapter 20- Lily's phone is completely shattered into 2 pieces and there is no saving the phone. She has no choice but to buy a new phone. So on her way to work she stops at the phone store and buys herself a new phone. She is getting it working and turned on when Allysa calls and is freaking out because she hasn't heard from Lily all night. Allysa is off today and Lily kicked Ryle out of the apartment because he lashed out on her because of his anger. Well he is begging Lily to talk to him and hear him out. He knows what he did was wrong but Lily grew up promising herself that she would not have a marriage or tolerate the same things her father did to her mother. Ryle is not a bad person but what triggers his anger is when he tells Lily the truth that HE was the one that killed his older brother with the gun. Lily is Ryle's wife and the whole morning Allysa has been pushing Ryle to tell her the truth. Once Lily knows the truth, she can't judge Ryle because in the beginning of the book, he was the one that said people are not bad, we all make bad decisions but you have to learn from them. Ryle has done everything he can to get himself some therapy for his anger but nothing has worked. Ryle knows he fucked up and is begging for another chance to make it right and be the person that Lily wants in life. Allysa is about to go on maternity leave soon. Will Lily and Ryle be able to overcome his anger issues?
Chapter 21- Lily has hired 2 new full time employees since Allyssa is on maternity leave. Lily has been at work in her office all day. Lucy and Serena are the new employees and so far they fit in just nicely. Lily knows that Ryle has a really bad temper and she has seen it through many scenarios. But there is a huge difference between Ryle and Lily's father. Lily has grew up in a abusive household and Lily will refuse to be married to someone like that. She will refuse to let a man treat her like that. Ryle would never do the things Lily's father did to her. Every marriage is different and there will be times where you disagree and agree on things. There will also be times where you argue and get along. Marriage is not perfect. Lily is a very strong woman but she is really thinking about how she can help Ryle with his anger issues. She wants to work together on this but it's alot to help with when your trying to find things that will work. Ryle has a very stressful job and he had just finished his residency for this job but now he has applied for a class to take and it's in Cambridge England. If he gets approved to go, he will take 3 month class. But Lily is upset because Ryle just got offered a job position in Minnesota working for one of the best hospitals in the world. But that requires them moving out of Boston. Lily doesn't want to move out of Boston because she has family there and Allyssa and Marshall are there as well. Lily has already told Ryle that she will not move to Minnesota if Ryle decides to take the job opportunity. She doesn't want to leave her floral shop behind and how is she suppose to manage and floral shop if she lives in a different state... Allyssa is almost due for the baby and right when lily gets off work, she has to go straight to Allyssa's place. But apparently when she gets there she is suppose to go to another apartment and that's when she sees Ryle standing in the doorway. Lily is upset at first because she is confused what's going on.... But Ryle had just signed on a bigger apartment for them and it is waaaayyyy more updated that the apartment she has now. It's stunning as she walks through but now Allyssa and Lily will be neighbors and Lily is crying because she can't believe that she is living in this nice of an apartment. She knows she would NEVER be able to afford this. Ryle has turned down the position and that's why he bought the apartment since they were continuing to live in Boston. Lily married a neurosurgeon so they can afford nice things now. They have no furniture in the apartment yet, so they have to go shopping for that. Allyssa and Marshall are sooo excited for them and the whole night as they order take out, they are all talking about how they will decorate this beautiful apartment. But even better what will Lily's mom think when she sees this?
Chapter 22- Ryle and Lily have lived in their new apartment for 1 week. They moved everything while Ryle was off and they are both settled and happy. Allyssa is 3 days overdue on the baby. Lily is at work when she is about to close up the store and Ryle is unlocking the front door with some pretty exciting news. It's been a while since Lily has gotten some good news. 1) Lily's floral business was rated one of the best new stores in town. 2) Ryle got approved to go to that class training in England. 3) Allyssa is finally at the hospital waiting to give birth to the baby. Ryle is super excited for Lily and she has worked sooo hard to make her business the best! Ryle is excited for this class and Lily is excited for him because he gets to travel out of state. Lily freaks the heck out when she finds out that Allyssa is giving birth. As she closes the shop, Ryle and Lily head to the hospital to see the new baby and make sure Alyssa and Marshall are okay and to see they baby. Marshall is in tears because he is sooo excited that he is a father. But they walk in and she is absolutely precious! Her name is Rylee and Allyssa didn't have any medications while she was giving birth. Their parents will be here tomorrow to see the baby. But now Ryle and Lily have baby fever. Ryle wants to start trying for a baby now but I dont think Lily is quite ready and is shocked when she hears Ryle say that.
Chapter 23- Lily ended up staying at the hospital an hour later after Ryle left. But once she left the hospital she went back to the floral shop to finish some things so she could spend the next 2 days off with Ryle. Lily ends up getting home at 10pm and every light in the apartment if off, but as soon as she walks in and closes the door and flips the light on to the kitchen, she spots Ryle standing there with a nasty glare on his face. Of course Lily can tell that he has had some alcohol because she can smell it in his breath. He is acting very very strange towards her and she is confused about what is going on. Ryle had just mentioned to Lily that he wanted to start trying for a kid. Lily was all happy about that until he started to lash out on her and his anger got the best of him once again. Ryle has her sitting on the kitchen counter stripping her clothes off while she is reading an article in the newspaper about Atlas restaurant. The name of Atlas's restaurant is called Bib's. Which stand for Better In Boston. Ryle asks Lily where she got the magnet and she lies to him and says she cant remember but she is scared to tell Ryle that Atlas bought it for her on her 16th birthday. Lily is trying to figure out how he found out about the understanding between them, and why Atlas opened the restaurant because of Lily....... That has Ryle pissed off. Well when she walks in the bedroom he pushes her on the bed and is laying on top of her to where she can't move forcing answers out of her till he gets the answers he wants. Lily fights Ryle and asks him to get off of her but he won't budge. He is waaaayyy over drunk, Lily is now shaking and trembling in fear because Lily's forehead is gushing blood because Ryle smacked his head on top of hers. Lily has a hard time figuring out who she is going to call for help. So sure enough she dials Atlas number and when he finds out that Ryle beat the shit out of Lily. He rushes over to the apartment so fast, he takes Lily to the hospital to get stitches for her forehead but Atlas wants to fight Ryle but he is inside the apartment sleeping. Ryle has packed Lily's things and I'm pretty sure Lily is not moving back in with him. Ryle is a serious piece of shit.... This book is literally a one star to me. I have no sympathy and I don't believe he is sorry.
Chapter 24- Atlas and Lily are now at the hospital. Atlas is extremely worried about Lily and they have taken a blood sample and the nurse is getting her all checked in before she asks all these questions. The nurse looks very concerned for Lily. Lily informs the nurse that Atlas is NOT the one who attacked Lily. But the nurse does see the bite mark where Ryle had bit her. So Lily wants Atlas in the room while the nurse asks questions. So Lily is not hurt anywhere else besides her feelings on the inside. She is nervous and scared because it has gone this far. But the nurse asks Lily if she was raped? But Lily can’t remember them having sex at all. So the nurse does a exam on her and as soon as the nurse is talking the doctor walks in with some news. So they didn’t runs a scan on her but the doctor thinks that Lily might be pregnant and that is why they are keeping her. But apparently Lily didn’t even know she was pregnant and now she is carrying a child from Ryle. But Atlas is concerned so he drives her home from the hospital back to his house so she is safe and she can get a good nights sleep. Atlas has his own house just outside Boston so Lily doesn’t have to worry about Atlas’s girlfriend Cassie. But Lily can’t believe she allowed this to happen and it’s all fun and games but now what is she going to do? Ryle knows where a Lily works, and he is going to wonder where she was all night…. Atlas has given her some clothes to sleep in and has gave her the spare bed. But Lily is so tired she can’t even look around and figure out that she is in Atlas’s home.
Chapter 25- Lily wakes up the next morning and she kind of forgets that she is in Atlas's spare bedroom. She wakes up and she can smell Atlas making breakfast but before she walks out there she gathers her thoughts and her and emotions before she starts crying again because she doesn't know what to do. She wants to leave this abusive situation she is in, but Lily loves Ryle but he is just going to keep doing the same things to her. As she makes her way into the kitchen to eat breakfast, Atlas is talking with her and asking her if she could stay at his house and not leave until he gets back from work. Atlas doesn't want Lily going back to the house because Atlas doesn't know Ryle's intentions and doesn't want her getting hurt again. Atlas learned to cook when he went into the military. While he was reenlisted he had bought himself a cookbook and worked on recipes and eventually got better at cooking meal. Atlas was raised in a home where his mom worked 2nd shift so at night he had to make himself his own dinner. So Atlas is going in to work until noon and Lily will have the whole house to relax and to take this time she needs to figure out what she is going to do from her on out. So she decides to write Ellen a letter about how her life is going now and how her marriage is going with Ryle. She is now pregnant with a child and she is in the same situation her mother was in when Lily lived at home. Ryle is very abusive to Lily and Lily is tired of getting treated like this but in the end she doesn't want to leave Ryle because she loves him. But she also has to think about what is best for her and the child.
Chapter 26- Lily is laying on Atlas's guest bed and her emotions are taking over as she is using this time she is staying at Atlas's house to figure out her next step. Does she stay with Ryle or leave him? Lily can't help but feel the movement of the baby and be thankful that she is now a mom to a wonderful baby. She doesn't know the gender yet but she will do whatever she needs to make sure the baby is protected. Lily gets into the shower and gets herself cleaned up and once she walks into the kitchen she sees Atlas sitting at his table working on his laptop. As they eat dinner together, Atlas has to work tomorrow and Lily has to work tomorrow but Atlas is worried that something will happen to her while she is working. Lily is probably in the safest place right now. Ryle doesn't know where Atlas lives but Ryle will find out if she were to stay anywhere else. She has not answered a single call or text from him. But Allysa is now home from the hospital with the baby and she wants Lily to go over and spend time with her. She doesn't respond and instead she spends the next 3 hours watching TV with Atlas. They watch the same show they used to watch when she was living back home. Lily feels the tension in the air and it brings back several memories and it has her in tears. Atlas is extremely worried about her and what she is going to do from her on out. As she calls it a night, Lily knew that she should have listened to Atlas and left Ryle the night it went down at the restaurant. Lily feels bad but again she is the one who put herself in that position. Atlas has offered Lily to stay as long as she needs. But Atlas will refuse to let her go back alone with Ryle.
Chapter 27- Lily walks into work to get some paperwork done for the floral shop. She is scared to death because she feels like Ryle will already be there waiting for her and asking her where she has been and why she hasn't answered his messages. But... as she walks through the door and turns lights on and opens the store, she doesn't see him anywhere until he decides to walk in the front door and the minute Lily sees him she is angry and she doesn't need his excuses. Ryle has made his way to her office and is handing her the keys to the apartment and letting her know that he will be leaving tonight for England for his class training. He will be gone for 3 months so she will have the whole apartment to herself and she will will have her time to think about what needs to happen from here on out. The whole time he is in her office, he doesn't apologize and Lily gets pissed off because he is not the only one suffering because of HIS actions. Ryle tries to speak but Lily is not in the mood and she is scared to hear what he has to say... so he leaves just like he was asking to.
Chapter 28- Lily leaves work and she is thinking about going back to the apartment but she is not ready to deal with Allysa and Marshall finding out about the fight and about what happened to her head. Allysa has been begging Lily to come by the apartment to see the baby and to see them. So she lies to Allysa and tells her that she is in the emergency room getting stitches. So she takes a cab back to Atlas house. Right now, Lily is the safest there and until she figures out her next move, she should probably just go back to Atlas's house. So as soon as Lily gets home, she is star struck because she hears loud pounding on the door and she doesn't know who would be knocking. She doesn't recognize the people at the door. Atlas has a very strange taste in friends, and Atlas's friends knock because every Friday night he goes out and plays Poker with his friends. Lily lets them in when she starts chatting with his friends and it's taking the load off her shoulders a bit but when they ask what happened to her, Lily is honest about what happened. I think everyone else is also confused because supposedly Atlas has a girlfriend named Cassie. His friends have known him and they all have said and questioned who this Cassie chick is. Lily comes to find out that Atlas doesn't have a girlfriend and he said that because when they first ran into each other at the restaurant.... Atlas could see that Lily was happy with Ryle. Atlas is very shocked when he finds out that Lily is heartbroken once again because Atlas lied to her. Atlas told her that he did try looking for her after he got out of the military. But once he saw another guy kiss her, he walked away because he didn't want to interrupt her happiness. But Lily goes back to the apartment and the coast is clear. Ryle is no where in the apartment but Lily is having a very hard time deciding on what she needs to do. She doesn't want to forget things she had with Atlas but at the same time she is married and is pregnant with another mans child. Atlas is telling her if she ever wants to find love again she needs to come to Atlas because he will show her the love she deserves.
Chapter 29- Lily goes over to Allysa and Marshall's place to check on them and to see the baby. Allysa has been at home with the baby for 6 weeks now and she is ready to go back to work at the floral shop. Ryle has also left for England 6 weeks ago and Lily and Ryle have not told ANYONE about the fight, the hospital, or that Lily is pregnant. Lily has been to the doctor 2 times and the first time she was already 12 weeks pregnant and now she is 18 weeks pregnant and she is trying to keep the word quiet because she doesn't want Ryle finding out over a phone conversation. Lily is already starting to show and she is getting to the point where she is not going to be able to hide her stomach for much longer. Marshall is in the living room with the baby and Allysa takes Lily in the bedroom to talk to her because Allysa knows that something is up. She wants to know what is going on between them. So while the girls are in the bedroom Lily tells Allysa EVERYTHING that happened. Allysa knows that Lily is pregnant again and she gives her tons of maternity clothes. Allysa loves her brother but Allysa already said it herself that if Lily forgives him, she will NEVER speak to her again. The minute the girls take out clothes Marshall can't believe that Lily is pregnant but Allysa has asked Marshall to not say a damn word to Ryle because he doesn't know yet. Allysa will have a baby shower for her but as of right now... Lily needs all the help she can get and she also has a lot of thinking to do before Ryle gets back.
Chapter 30- Lily feels like she has had a extremely hard time trying to live in that apartment ever since that night Ryle raped her, and physically took his anger out on her. It now has been 2 weeks since Lily has told Marshall and Allysa about the pregnancy. Lily knows that before Ryle comes home, she is already going to be showing even more and there is no way of hiding her stomach anymore. Ryle needs to know before she tells anyone else. Lily will probably just have to tell her husband over the phone.... she is eventually going to run into someone she knows and they will end up seeing her belly and the news will eventually get out to Ryle. Lily begins to unlock the apartment right when she opens the door she sees Ryle standing on the other side... she is shocked and scared because he immediately looks at her stomach and Lily doesn't want to be touched by him at all. Lily doesn't know how he is going to react but the fact that he is home month early.... Lily is wondering what made him come home all the sudden.... Marshall walks in behind Ryle so just in case anything goes down... Marshall will be able to stop Ryle. Lily says her truth about how she feels about the whole fight. She feels like just because his anger got the best of him, there was absolutely no reason he needed to lay his hands on her that way. She is not happy and she tells Ryle that she wishes the baby was never a part of Ryle and that he doesn't deserve to have a chance at being the father of this child. Ryle supposedly came home early because he was going to tell Lily that he was going to take the position in Minnesota but since she is pregnant, he wants to try and be a father to the child. If lily will allow it, and if Lily doesn't divorce Ryle. Ryle says he is sorry over and over again but Lily has given him too many chances and doesn't trust him. Lily has been hurt more because of his actions because now she is carrying the child and she has to find a place to stay if she chooses not to stay with Ryle. But at the end of the day, Lily and Ryle have to come down to a conclusion on something and what is going to happen from here on out.
Chapter 31- It's been a while since Lily has seen her mom. She knows that her mom is going to be happy that she has a grandchild but she is nervous to explain what happened to her while Ryle is sitting there with her. Allysa invites Lily over for pizza tonight. Lily doesn't want to be anywhere near Ryle. She is keeping her distance for many good reasons. Ryle is at work, so she is off the hook. This is Lily's first kid and she is curious about what the baby eats, and when and what stage she should slowly introduce foods to her child. Allysa doesn't find this stupid... being a first time mom you have to learn things from others and watch videos on things as well. Lily is off work tomorrow and she is offering to take Rylee (the child) with her tonight so Allysa and Marshall get a full nights sleep for once. Lily lives on the floor right under them so she is not far away and she can always call if things don't go well. This would be good practice for Lily so when she has her child, she knows what it's like. Having a newborn... there are going to be nights where you wake up every 2 hours to breast feed the baby. Marshall packs the diaper bag and Lily is excited to give the parents a night off. But Allysa now has baby fever so she is wanting to do the deeds since they haven't had that time in 4 months..... Lily didn't need to know that but she is going to stay out of that conversation.... So right before Lily leaves, she feels the baby kick a little bit and it catches her off guard. Lily is 20 weeks pregnant know and this is the first time in a while she has felt the baby kicking and moving around. Allysa has had her hands on Lily's stomach more than Ryle has. But Lily doesn't want Ryle to touch her. So it's fair. Now Allysa will have another baby to hold on when he/she is born.
