I don't mind about the schedule - I'm in the UK so timings might be weird depending on where everyone else is....
I also read pretty quickly so it probably won't take me that long to read.

I'm in the Netherlands so our timings shouldn't be that weird. I usually read quite fast too but I'm not sure how busy I am going to be. I was planning on reading this book in only a few days though, maybe 5 or something like that

Umm.... well I don't really know tbh...
Maybe around 30-50 pages but if I enjoy it instantly it could be around 70 ish pages. (that ones probably more likely lol)

Okay cool let me know once you're finished. If it's before I start I'll read the same amount as you, otherwise I'll also just read as much as I feel like :)

Alright I read up to page 70 and think I'm going to stop there for today. It's reading really nicely and I'm flying through it. I wish we would get Cardan's POV though, maybe romance books and their dual povs have just spoiled me lol

I'm up to page 70 now - I haven't really done a buddy read before so I wrote down my thoughts as I read.

Prologue
(view spoiler)[I like how it shows a past event from when Jude and Taryn were reasonably young with Madoc learning to fight.
I really liked how it linked to the start of the first book with a mention of Jude's parents murder.
Maybe is it foreshadowing that Jude won't be able to hold onto the power?

Chapters 1 -3
(view spoiler)[I think it is interesting how reckless Cardan is being by continuously partying - maybe he is enjoying being King?
Balekin must be hiding something really important or something that could sway Cardan to try and get the message to him... What is it?
Also with Taryn's approach towards Jude - is it motivated by Locke's interest in creating a story/drama in the court or is it purely kindness?

Chapters 5-7

I think it's sad that Jude still likes Cardan but doesn't want to be foolish and start that ball rolling again.
"He hates you. Even if he wants you, he hates you."
Also I think that she can't let Nicasia become Queen since there are too many obstacles and she likes Cardan.
Also what does Nicasia know? - "Someone you trust has already betrayed you."
But seriously why does Madoc have to come back now? Like I'm definitely with Jude if I betrayed someone it would be easier on my conscience not to talk to him.
Also I think that it's interesting what Nicasia mentioned about her mother Orlagh making Balekin feel important when he isn't... (hide spoiler)]

@Quinty, same I also would love a Cardans POV it would add so much to the story!

My thoughts on your thoughts haha:

Prologue:

Chapters 1-3:
(view spoiler)[ Well we know (or can at least guess) what Balekin wanted to tell Cardan and that Cardan is enjoying being king. But I do think there is more to Taryn and Locke suddenly approaching Jude and Cardan again. I don't trust them for one second. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 5-7:
(view spoiler)[ Nicasia was suspicious. I know her pulling the robe closed was because she was naked, but I couldn't help but htink maybe there was another reason and that she was hiding something under it. Also I think it was pretty clear she wasn't the one who dragged the crossbow to that passageway. And also who betrayed Jude?? I'm going to be so pissed if it's someone from the Court of Shadows, but I do think it's that one person who had human in their heritage, since he'd be able to lie too (I think that's how it works?). Especially since he said he wouldn't let her win again after their sparring match (hide spoiler)]

I was originally planning on getting up to chapter 16 but its really late so I might get up to the end of chapter 13 tonight - I'll update how far I've read in the morning...

I finished chapter 16! I wasn't even aware I had gotten so far haha, it just reads so nicely you don't even notice time passing. I'm so excited to see where this is going and I'm definitely liking it more than the first book (although I have that a lot)

I'm up to book 2 (chapter 22)! My thoughts:

(view spoiler)[ omg I can't believe I was right about the Ghost!! Fucking asshole. I really wish I wasn't. There's no way this is going to end well, especially now that Madoc knows how Jude got so high up in the game. And obviously all the spies know as well. And then Locke attacking her :( she really has no allies. Also Vivi glamouring Heather made me so uncomfortable, I totally get why Jude was so mad about it. The only good thing happening right now is the tension between Jude and Cardan lol, I just want them to rule together already!! (hide spoiler)]

I also think it was so wrong of Vivi to glamour Heather that's just opposing all she said she was for.
But seriously with Locke, honestly he is such a horrible person, like who attacks family of the person they are getting married to... I hope Taryn really does know what she is doing, I don't agree with it...

Taryn definitely is regretting it, but she probably feels trapped. Because really what other prospects does she have, so I get where she is coming from. She's just trapped between a rock and a hard place. But also she kind of brought it upon herself, so idk I have complicated feelings towards her lol. (hide spoiler)]

Okay I got the copy of Queen of Nothing! But it's gonna have to be about 2 weeks before I can read it if that's okay? Also it's pretty small, I would have expected it to be bigger...
