Chip Away At My Shelf! Non-Series Books Challenge
Well, this is intended to be more like a "relay race" than a set monthly event: anyone can participate whenever they want, as many times as they want. But I do see your point. It's hard to have an independent interactive challenge (i.e. not a team challenge but one where people interact with each other) that doesn't involve picking something for someone else, so those kinds of challenges do tend to be similar in those ways. :)

I was thinking that, some months I whizz through mine, so if this is a challenge we can join at any time, it would work for those times. I'll have to check what November's theme is (you'd think it'd be easy as it should be the only one left!)

I read a lot more series than not, but here are three strays:

Thanks, Jennifer, really nice of you to say. 💕 Sure, I will pick this up at some point.

Thanks Connie🤗

I'll post mine soon.
Sorry ... my laptop is acting up today. I think it's like me ... getting too old to work well. LOL I'm not sure how the wrong book ended up there. I've corrected it.

I'm happy about it too -- you never know if something is going to take off or not. :)

Thanks, Martha! I got this one because I liked Oona Out of Order, but it's getting mixed reviews. I needed a nudge to dive in. :)

I like to toss in plays and poetry as a cleanser. Plus I need to toss in some classics more often.

I'm so glad you liked it!

Yes, I can see this book being nominated for literary prizes, particularly the women's prize.

Thank you to Lindsey for picking

I've been trying to think of a replacement for the non-series challenge I had started here that just didn't get any traction. Let's try this instead.
How it works: I post three books. The catch is, they have to be NON-SERIES books -- fiction or nonfiction, both are fine, but it cannot be part of a series.
The next person picks one of my three for me to read, and posts three of his or her own, and so on. You do not have to have finished your last book in order to re-pick and re-post, but we encourage you to let us know what you've finished and how you like it!
