Julesy I finally was able to read this book. I got the hardcover from the library since there is no ebook edition. I have to say that it took me a while to read because the text is extremely small. I have no issue reading small print but the combination of the glossy pages and small text, I could only read a few pages at a time because I got head/eye aches.

I appreciate the graphic novel version. There is 100% likelihood I would not have read the entire almost-600 page actual report.

The artwork was OUTSTANDING! I could not say enough good things about the drawings. I enjoyed the pullout at the beginning of the book for the timeline. It helped to put it all perspective. I learned so much about the terrorism plots, terrorists, Al Qaeda, Usama bin Laden, etc. Admittedly, some of this terrorism and intelligence information goes over my head.

Thanks for the recommendation and making this a book discussion. I would not have known nor read the book if it wasn't for this group.

100% agree. As important as it is for citizens to have an understanding of important topics and events, it is very hard to get through weighty government reports. I appreciate that more of them are being made into graphic format. I think this one might have been the first?

I'm so glad you felt this was a good read!

SuperKimbit | 59 comments I also just got my hands on this one and it was pretty heavy. I agree that the glossy pages and small text did make it tough to read! I read it in two sittings and I already had a headache so I needed to take a break in the middle.

There is no way I'd ever read through an entire commission when I can barely read non-fiction books about topics I am passionate about so graphic novel format is ideal.

I found the book interesting to see the breakdown of the various government failures but I wish I knew more about if they feel they actually fixed the things they wanted to in the years since. I definitely learned a lot more about Al Qaeda and Bin Laden as I did not realize how long before 9/11 they had been active and on the US's radar.

I'm also Canadian and the attacks happened when I was young so I think a lot of this information was just over my head at the time.
