WEEKLY CHECK-IN
October 22, 2022 -- Week 43

Challenge Check-In time! How's your challenge going so far? On schedule? Just waiting on November to finish? Fallen a little behind? Are there any prompts we can help with?

description

message 2: by Iona (new)

Iona | 3 comments 10 prompts left! Should be able to finish

message 3: by Beth (new)

Beth | 211 comments Six left, but a seventh might need to be done over. Two are already started, and the others have been selected. Plus a couple mini-challenge stragglers that were set aside less than completed. Should be doable...

message 4: by Anna (new)

Anna (annafrommontana) | 414 comments Two left for the challenge, selected already. I have 1 mini-challenge prompt left. So I should be good to finish.

message 5: by Kim (new)

Kim Hampton | 266 comments I'm just waiting for November.

message 6: by Michele (new)

Michele Olson | 517 comments I haven't read a November book yet, but I know which one I'm going to read for book club, so I included it on the wrap-up list, which is done.

message 7: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Young | 1 comments I have four left. I'm almost finished with #11 (a book with less than 2022 Goodreads ratings), and I have the others chosen, except for the November one.

This is the first year I have ever done any reading challenges, and I am on track to complete three of them! I have read so many good books this year that I most likely wouldn't have otherwise picked up, so I'm loving it!

Crys Ahhhhh…6 more to go!

Rachel (mimbza) | 119 comments This week I read:
Blue Label / Etiqueta Azul by Eduardo Sánchez Rugeles Blue Label by Eduardo Sánchez Rugeles which is literary fiction set in Venezuela about teenagers on a road trip, trying to find a way to deal with the collapse of a country around them. I found it well-written and engaging. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Here is my review. This would work for Author with X/Y/Z in their name OR an Indie read OR A Bilingual Character

A Return to Sanditon by Anne Toledo A Return to Sanditon by Anne Toledo, one of several books completing Jane Austen's final unfinished manuscript. Here is my review: my review. It would work for Jane Austen inspired prompt!

Persepolis The Story of a Childhood (Persepolis, #1) by Marjane Satrapi Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood is a graphic novel/ autobiography by Marjane Satrapi about growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War of the 1980. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review. It works for Nonfiction Bestseller/ recommended by a favourite author

Progress:
52 Book Club: 43/52
Booklist Queen: 41/52
Aussie Spring Challenge: 11/18

Still struggling with “seen someone reading in a public place”, “picked based on its spine” which is hard when you read ebooks, and “game in the title”

Necmi Çoban | 104 comments I have just two books left. One is of course November reading and the other is indie read. May I read a book not on sale. The author gave it to me as a present. He doesn't think to sell his book. Therefore, none of the booksellers has it. Does it count?

Of course, all books count! I have a lot that I got for free.

Thank you Lindsey. I'll read it and count as indie book.

AllieKatz (hawaiimiss) | 10 comments I've been finished awhile. I've been gobbling up the mini challenges when they pop up. For the Nov read, I read Now in November by Josephine Johnson. Can't wait to see next year's completed list. I thought about starting on next year's with the four from the drawings we did, but decided to wait to see what the exact wording is for the prompt.
