Paul (paullev) | 829 comments Definitely some time travel in the new series, The Peripheral, on Amazon Prime Video. Here's my generally non-spoiler review of the first two episodes https://vocal.media/futurism/review-o...

Pat of Rocks | 70 comments Nice initial reviews, Paul!

Amazon really wants me to watch. It keeps popping up on my Alexa device as a suggestion. Hoping to make quick work on the book this month so I can start the show soon

Nancy (paper_addict) I can get an ebook from the library.

Would anyone want to do a buddy read or make this the January/February book?

Pat of Rocks | 70 comments I impulse purchased the audiobook last night, but I am definitely willing to hold off on reading if there's interest in making it a team event.

Nancy (paper_addict) I started reading the book so I can watch the show. Didn’t realize I already had a copy that I bought in 2017. Now I have two 🙄

I don’t think there is any interest ☹️

Nancy (paper_addict) So this first episode is nothing like the book at all.

message 17: by Pat of Rocks (new)

Pat of Rocks | 70 comments I just started reading as well. I am struggling to keep all the characters straight. might have to watch the first couple episodes to help visualize who is who.

They made changes to some of the characters and especially a few of the relationships and omitted others. It might be more confusing!

Yikes! That would be more confusing. Guess I just need to push through a littler further before I try out the show. Made some good progress yesterday so things are starting to clear up. I can at least discern the present and future characters now.

I know! At first I thought both were at the same time then you realize they aren’t.

I would just finish the book first. The show is basically the gist of the book with so much changed. It better renew for another season although the way they ended it could stand on its own.
