I don't entirely agree. Perhaps the best part of these books is the character development of the "Murderbot" and its changing relationships with humans. There is a definite progression.
So I strongly recommend reading the first four published novellas in order (All Systems Red, Artificial Condition, Rogue Protocol, Exit Strategy), followed by the full novel (Network Effect).
The other novellas and short stories take place either before those first five or in between two of them, and can be read in any order (preferably after you've read the first five, since they elaborate on the character progression rather than adding different parts to it.
Enjoy!

I have read them all in publication order and would recommend doing so. Especially the first four books. The first four books is basically one story and are tied closely together.
With regards to the later books the story in five continues in seven, and chronologically then six. But I read them will being published and reading it as five, six and seven works fine. I guess you could also just jump to six after four and that would work fine as well.

I read it in chronological order, rather than order of publication. I think you have to read the first book first, and the second novella before the full-length novel. But other than that, it's OK to skip around.
It's supposed to be read in the order that's listed on Goodreads, except for the sixth (Fugitive Telemetry) which is set between the fourth and fifth books. Five and seven is the same continuous story split over two books.
Reading it out of order wouldn't make sense, as there's a continuous story linking the books.

Definitely read in either publication order or chronological order. There are mysteries that are revealed in the first few books, you will spoil yourself if you know the answer too soon.
Read them in order if you can. It will make life a LOT easier to follow around when you're reading this.
