Hi all! Hope everyone is excited to get going with this fast and furious edition of Wheels!
I'm going out shortly, so this is a brief intro, and I'll get around to nitty gritty tomorrow
I'm Cat (she/her) based in London and an old hand at team challenges! Obviously I grabbed the Pratchett title for my team, being a big fan. Expect Melinda to pop in occasionally, a little bitter at not getting her hands on Vimes!
Outside of Pratchett, most things are grist to my reading mill, and I love the challenge of fitting books to challenge requirements!

I'm Pat. I live in Central Oklahoma on 20 acres with my husband, 4 horses, a handful of chickens, and a chunky mini-schnauzer named Oskar. I work for the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County, which means access to millions of titles at the tips of my fingers. It's a hard life, but somebody's gotta live it.
I ride and show my horses competitively. I read whatever catches my eye, and readers advisory is the best part of my job. I love challenges because they send me to the stacks to find a good book rather than just sitting and waiting for one to inspire me.
Looking forward to meeting everyone here and playing hard for Guards!

I’m Danielle (she/her) and I’m from Wales. I’ve played in all the previous Wheels. It’s a fun and easier one.
I’m mostly read romance and fantasy. I do like to read some mystery and sci-fi too. Horror is a definite no!
Here’s my wheel shelf - wheel
Oh! Wheel shelf! Forgot about that! It will be Wheels7 https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Team: please make sure that you put the book edition you are reading on your shelf when you finish. It needs to be your version, even if it is an audio, as that will drive the cover colour points:)

Hi Trinia!
We are now in the phase of reading that I find most awks! I want to read, but can't read books that would be better for the challenge, so end up stacking books!
Case in point, I was going to start up
earlier, but realised it was a C blue book! Had to go back to the drawing board!
Also lined up is Chaos Vector, which is C or O, space opera but sadly not blue. There is also the last in that series for another O & space opera 🙂

I've got a couple of B books, one with a blue cover.
I can do A, T (4 times)
Got a D and a couple of S's as well.
I've got to finish these to finish up my YLTO annual challenge, but after these six, I can go just about any direction we need me to go. :-)

Blue AND Space Opera
Never mind - it's only 86 pages
Well, each word is a week long, so ideally, if you don't have other time pressures, you'd get The Muse done this week for the blue bonus (reminder for everyone, we have to wait until past 9pm UK time on Monday to start books for this challenge. There's a countdown somewhere. I'll hunt it down and post in post 4 above)

I'm not under any time pressure. I have six books and six weeks to finish the balance of my yearly challenge, so I can pretty much grab a second one for whatever.
I can take a Blue B - with The Muse for sure.
Space Opera TAG or MPG?

my shelf is wheeling-around https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
I can do F - Faithless in Death
S - The Secret Runners of New York
C / H or K The Cloisters
Blue book cover [bookcover :Sincerely, Me|59651126] = S or H
Calico Joe = C
I dont think i can help with space opera it jut is not my thing

We have a planning sheet to add our book too. It should be pretty simple to use.

I can't believe how well #9 is doing now Marie! Enjoy those cuddles 🥰
And for sure don't worry about space opera tags! @Pat, it's 10 tags, not MPG or top 100 shelves. There are some niche-r tags in the randomiser, so 10 seemed sensible!

Yes, it’s hard to know what to read before a challenge.

That's going to help things along! Thanks.

I've got 3 grown boys and am an empty nester with my husband. I work 2 days a week as an Occupational Therapist in hand therapy. I love it but would rather read ;P
I found

This is Team Outlander or The Wee Free Men if you will, dropping by and doing some kilt-flashing for everyone's benefit. 😜

Haha! So there are compensations for the Vimeslessness after all. Love it!

I'm also finding it a bit odd having our colour as blue - that Sins TT has completely trained me to think of space opera as brown. 😂

That's so wonderful that your grandson is doing so well! So happy to hear it!

Ask here and post cover if you’re not sure a cover is entirely enough of a colour. We can decide ourselves and get a consensus if we think it’s good to use it for colour or not.

Welcome Sarah.
I did think that too!

Sounds good ... sooooo, Blue enough?

I just put a copy of Ringworld on hold. I think this cover passes the blue test. It'll be my second book of the week.

Tineye says 52%, so absolutely yes. :-)
That's the version my library has as well, so I'm going with the same cover.

Nice! Thanks Pat :D

I've done Wheel several times Looking forward to this round.

Morning, Jackie, and hello from the cold heart of the center of Oklahoma.
Cold front blew in from the upper Rockies last night and we dropped 30 degrees in the space of an hour. It was brutal early this morning, but I'm at work in my warm little library now so all is right with my world!
Reading a "not-wheels" book this morning.
The Final Girl Support Group

I'm Alysa from NYC. I've played many NBRC team challenges before, and co-captained a time or two, but haven't been as active on Goodreads (or even reading as much) in the past couple of years due to RL stuff.
I'm excited to play Wheel with you all! And especially glad to finally be on a team with the lovely Cat :)
Not sure what my first book will be... I need to take a look through everything over the weekend. Trying to finish my current novel before Wheel starts, and maybe the short story collection at which I've been chipping away since early September...
I've been chipping away at my Book Maze, too, and my next task is "Read a book with the main genre (listed on the first page on GR) as Humour(ous)" -- and I was actually planning to read a Terry Pratchett book for it, so it's fitting that I'm on the Guards!Guards! team, LOL.
Here is my shelf:

Trying to make the most of my Vimelessness! (Oh what a horrible word! *clutches at heart* ;)

ETA: To me this is a blue cover, but I REALLY do not want a repeat of the Infamous Tower Teams Color Cover Controversy, and I don't know if we're using TinEye or not because it's wonky sometimes. Do we need a second opinion on the color?
