Amanda | 21 comments Hi everyone
Susannah Fullerton and I are delighted to announce we are planning our fourth Georgette Heyer conference in Sydney. We are lining up speakers and topics and are very excited to be running another day of all things Heyer. Keep the date free - Saturday 2nd September 2023 :)

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ I can recommend this conference as I went to the second (?) one many years ago & really enjoyed it. :)

I think it was the International Heyer Society that ran a virtual con. It isn't our skill set, but we will give some thought to it 🙂

Amanda | 21 comments Hello Goodreads Heyer community - our 4th Sydney Heyer conference is now open for bookings - Saturday 2 September. Please pass on the information to anyone whom you think may be interested and able to attend :)

If the link doesn't work, the event is on Humanitix, listed as Georgette Heyer: A Very Accomplished Woman

Awesome! There are Heyer fans here but not enough to warrant a conference.

Michaela | 68 comments Sounds good! It would be nice to have an online talk or something too, as others already do, like the Hay Festival or the Austen or Gaskell Houses.

I quite definitely will after the conference!

I had an email from Susannah inviting me to the conference, & among the topics were

on what 'sensitivity readers' are planning to do to Georgette's novels,

I do hope this does engender some very lively discussion! We have talked here before about The Grand Sophy & some of us hoped that if they do 'clean up' the Jewish moneylender that this is made clear in an introduction.
