Young Muslim's Book Club discussion

Actually, I've experienced the same thing. I read the first book in a week (still took me some time) and had to DNF the second :/ I was very disappointed and saddened by the lack of (meaningful) plot that would contribute to the story. I believe the reason for that may be the fact this was the author's debut series. It's definitely a good read for people who are patient. However, it was unimpressive to me as there was almost zero suspense. From what I recall, and I recall very little, characters were just going places and nothing major was taking action. Hope you don't feel too bad or guilty if you need to set it down for a bit, one cannot possibly like every book.

I understand what you mean, I only finished about 25% and couldn't bear it anymore. If you feel like you can do it then go for it! And you're not nitpicking, you're entitled to your own opinion and I agree with you. It was a big mess at the start and just demotivated me from continuing :(

I'm very mixed about the book because of biased reasons. The story is great, the romance is great, everything is wonderful BUT... I was expecting a halal romance so I think that threw me off big time😭

During the first few pages, when Zafira nudged Deen's shoulder and he looked at her a certain way, my face literally said "🤨"
