Amanda and I will be reading this book for the Copy Me!! challenge :)

Amanda (zmobie) | 251 comments I can't wait to get started. :)

Amanda (zmobie) | 251 comments I've started this one, but haven't gotten too far in it. I'm only on chapter 3, and I'm really liking it so far.

I've heard that you either love it or hate it. I'm hoping I'm in the category that loves it, since I've really enjoyed other books by Holly Black, but I guess I'll need to keep reading to find out. It doesn't seem too bad at this point.

Jenna Leigh (jennaleigh1123) | 4 comments I read this a few years back. actually was drawn in by the cover. LOVED the book, been thinking about reading it again. HIGHLY recommend Valiant and Ironside, the ones that follow Holly Black's Modern Faerie Tales

Kayla (kaylawrites89) | 157 comments Love love love Tithe! Valiant is my fave though. Love Holly Black's Modern Faerie Tales series! (Valiant also has a small snippet into Mortal Instruments.)

I've read up to Chapter 3 now.

The prologue and chapter 1 had me not liking it very much. I found it to be quite jumpy and I really wanted more descriptions ya know. I didn't really like Kaye either or Cornelious.

Chapter 2 was a bit more interesting but I still have to say that it's not holding my attention yet :(

Amanda (zmobie) | 251 comments I haven't read any further, but I can see what you mean. I'm not too fond of Kaye right now, but I'm hoping that changes.

I have to say, about the writing, I definitely like her newer stuff better. But I haven't read enough to really say how it compares.

Hey :) How are you getting on?? :)

Amanda (zmobie) | 251 comments I ended up finishing this, and I ended up really liking it. Once the story got going, and Kaye found out more of who she was, I really started to get into the story. So much better than how it started out. I still only gave it 4 stars because the beginning was rough, and Kaye just wasn't that great (although she did get better). It also felt a little disjointed, but I think that got better as the book went along, too. My favorite part of the book was basically Roiben's entire character.

I will definitely be reading Valiant and Ironside at some point.

Great!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I ended up not finishing the book after about halfway through. I just could not get into it :( I really hope you enjoy the rest of the books too :)

Amanda (zmobie) | 251 comments I'm sorry you didn't like it, Sarah. I feel bad for picking it for our Copy Me Challenge. At least you tried it, though.

Are you still thinking of reading The Darkest Part of the Forest, or do you just not like her writing? It's so much better than Tithe, and much more coherent/put together.

Don't worry about it!! I was going to be reading it this month anyway because it was on my shelves for years now :P
I think I'm really going to think about now before I go and read it because there's so many mixed reviews to that book too. I'll have to see :P

Amanda (zmobie) | 251 comments LoL, I can understand that. I've read a lot of her other things and like them so much better than Tithe, but there are a lot of mixed reviews. But The Darkest Part of the Forest is probably my favorite of hers. :) It could go either way for you, though.
