Gizelle Catherine it was a curse so I guess fawkes couldn't cure it, maybe. but I honestly don't know.

Brook Bunch | 67 comments Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he knew he had to die, cause he knew that that was gonna be his fate, whether or not Draco actually went through with it. He knew he had to die, so why wouldn’t he extract the curse that was in the ring into his body to die with him? Or else wouldn’t the horcrux continue to live?

Sophie Foster | 42 comments It might not have been curable bcs Snape tried and the best he could do was contain it and he was one of the best potion people

Neha Navin | 2 comments I know a fan theory, but it may be false, so please correct me. According to the theory, Fawkes did try to cry on Dumbledore’s hand to heal the wound, but Dumbledore said, “Not this time, old friend.” Besides that, after a bit of research, I found out that Fawkes allegedly can’t heal curses with his tears, so yeah. There you go.
