Lucilla (lucillalin) | 6 comments Has anyone here published short stories on Amazon? For few pennies or free? I got an idea to translate and publish some of my short stories as a practice in translating and using the Kindle features - and of course to get some readers too. Most likely for free. Is this a common practice and what should I be aware of before starting?

And if you have short stories on Kindle, please give me a link! For me short stories and novellas are the best way to find new authors to read.

Colleen MacFarlane (sloanekerker) | 142 comments I uploaded my short story on Kindle and selling for .99. I did this in June, and don't recall any difficulties during the process. Name of my short story is: She Killed My Dog. Just 23 pages. What avenues have you tried to market your short stories? I agree with you, short stories or novellas could be a very popular market, especially for those who prefer kindle. I have to admit, I've not attempted much marketing for my short story. I prefer to write several more short stories, then publish as a book. How about you? Same plan?

Lucilla (lucillalin) | 6 comments I've published them all in Finnish so it's more to train myself in translating and the publishing process than to make any profit. I'm planning to have first ones for free. They are between around 10-20 pages, mostly historical horror, dystopian horror and some more lighter stuff. Maybe I'll publish them as part of a series.
