Kaje Harper | 17357 comments Once again, we're at the "Goodreads Choice Awards" - since they eliminated the nomination feature, I think it will generate less interest, but I'm still curious about LGBTQ books you may have spotted there.

abi (booksgamesvinyl) I've noticed some adult stories above so adding everything LGBT+ in the awards (that I know of) that hasn't already been covered.

To Paradise by Hanya Yanagihara To Paradise

Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult Mad Honey - from what I can there is a trans character but might not be the most kindly written (focusing on their medical transition etc)

Nightcrawling by Leila Mottley Nightcrawling - written by a teen about a teen but definitely for an adult audience

Olga Dies Dreaming by Xóchitl González Olga Dies Dreaming

True Biz by Sara Nović True Biz

Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart Young Mungo - teen protagonist but adult themes

The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean The Book Eaters

The Atlas Six (The Atlas, #1) by Olivie Blake The Atlas Six - released in 2020 but makes the cut because it was rereleased after being super popular on TikTok I think

When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill When Women Were Dragons

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree Legends & Lattes

Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel Kaikeyi

The World We Make (Great Cities, #2) by N.K. Jemisin The World We Make

Thieves by Lucie Bryon Thieves - sapphic YA graphic novel

Fangirl, Vol. 2 The Manga by Sam Maggs Fangirl, Vol. 2: The Manga - manga adaption of YA novel Fangirl - can technically be tagged as LGBT as the (cishet) female protagonist writes m/m fanfiction but it's a stretch

Kaje Harper | 17357 comments Final round voting now - I haven't checked which LGBTQ books made the cut, but I'll be voting soon, at least for the few I've read.

Kaje Harper | 17357 comments The winners are announced. - Heartstopper: Volume Four won graphic novel, with 138K votes, which is a plus for the continued way this series serves as an ambassador.

Not sure how I feel about Bad Gays: A Homosexual History - reviews seem divided between delightfully subversive and depressingly negative.

I didn't see much other rep make it to the top, but might have missed some. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th books in YA fiction were LGBTQ though, with 30K to 40K votes, which shows a strong readership.

I hadn't heard of this, but it does look interesting.
