Once again, we're at the "Goodreads Choice Awards" - since they eliminated the nomination feature, I think it will generate less interest, but I'm still curious about LGBTQ books you may have spotted there.

On a quick scan, I found:

Mad Honey - from what I can there is a trans character but might not be the most kindly written (focusing on their medical transition etc)

Nightcrawling - written by a teen about a teen but definitely for an adult audience

Final round voting now - I haven't checked which LGBTQ books made the cut, but I'll be voting soon, at least for the few I've read.

I always forget they close the vote so early.

The winners are announced. - Heartstopper: Volume Four won graphic novel, with 138K votes, which is a plus for the continued way this series serves as an ambassador.

Not sure how I feel about Bad Gays: A Homosexual History - reviews seem divided between delightfully subversive and depressingly negative.

I didn't see much other rep make it to the top, but might have missed some. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th books in YA fiction were LGBTQ though, with 30K to 40K votes, which shows a strong readership.

I hadn't heard of this, but it does look interesting.

I loved all of the LGBTQIA+ YA that were nominated this year. I esspecially liked,

1. The First to Die at the End

2. Heartstopper 4

3. She Gets The Girl *This was my fav book of the year*

4. Small Town Pride

5. Loveless

These were all great. I am looking forward to reading All Thats Left in the World, and many others. Im also very excited for new LGBTQIA+
books this year!

It was definitely cool to have so many nominees.
