NetGalley Addicts Support Group discussion

Hi everyone

I just finished a great book from Netgalley and usually when I finish, my highlighted notes get posted to Goodreads automatically but the new book I just finished didn't do that.

Is it because it's from Netgalley?

I am only guessing . . .
As a general rule, galleys are not final books and should not be quoted. You will usually find a message telling you this at the start of the galley.
Second, if there is a connection bw NG & GR that allows this to happen, perhaps the ISBN on the galley doesn't match anything on GR.

It's because it's not an actual Kindle edition. The notes/highlights only works for official Kindle editions bought directly from Amazon.

I actually find this greatly cheering. I don't want the world looking at my highlights, and I don't care for the idea that Amazon is snooping. If reading galleys is the way around this, then I guess that's one more reason to stick with NG.

You don’t have to share highlights etc from Amazon - just don’t link your accounts
