2023 Reading Plans and Goals
date
newest »

The past few years I haven't managed to complete my ATW plans, so my theme for 2023 is going to be tidying up - completing my 2022 walk, as well as going back to my India and Foodie lists and reading any of the titles that still excite me. Plus I'll try to get through some of my paperbacks in the neverending struggle to make room on the bookshelves. I'll be aiming to tick at least 8 new countries off my list.
Already that time of the year - ooph :-) - how did that happen? I gave up on having a reading plan - it doesn’t work for me as evidenced by my most recent failure to complete reading The Complete Works of Rabindranath Tagore this year. Maybe I’ll try again next year…
I do want to continue reading translated works, continue reading books set in Turkiye/Turkey, and pick off books set in countries I haven’t encountered yet. And I’ll be leaving a couple of blank spots for Andrea’s teaser…

I’ve created this year’s challenge. It shows up on the Home page - Around the World 2023 Challenge.
Feel free to set your goal for the number of books you want to read for the year. There’s no magic number - whatever works best for you. It would be great to see a few folks participate!
Enter the number of books you want to read for the challenge. Then you’ll need to link to the shelf you’re designating for this challenge. Example: in my Bookshelves, I’ve created a shelf titled: Around the World 2023 Lilisa, where I shelve books read for this challenge. This is the shelf I link to for this challenge.
Good luck and happy reading!

Inspiring all of us, Almeta! Some of your choices would also work for the Group Challenge - maybe you could take a look and pledge one or two of your books?

Yes, I agree with Andrea, Almeta - great list! I love that you have Death in a Strange Country for Venice, Italy. I’ve been on a roll with the series! I’m going to have to nudge Cherie to see if she’s had this series on her list! 😊

Have you started to think about where you want your reading to take you in 2023 yet? As you come up with ideas, please feel free to share them here to inspire others.
Also, I'll mention that the moderators are planning something of a Group collaborative challenge for 2023, so stay tuned for that (and maybe leave a blank slot or two on your reading list so that you can join in!).
