Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 2090 comments I'm on time this month.

1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?

Only 1. I’m up to date with Kim Stone. Hidden Scars (DI Kim Stone, #17) by Angela Marsons

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?

Two—sort of:

1. Bree Taggert

I read Fall Guy (Joe Gunther, #33) by Archer Mayor by Archer Mayor for the 50-State challenge, then realized this is book #33 in the Joe Gunther series. It was frustrating in that the characters have evolved over 30+ books. The police procedural was well done, and the case was engaging. The story and the characters made me add this series to my TBR list for next year.

3. Did you move forward in any series (that you didn’t complete or finish)? How many?

Yes, four, thanks to our buddy reads.

Orphan X, Troubleshooters, Alex Cross

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

Our buddy reads continue to be a big hit for me. I loved Fall Guy. I will start this series as soon as time permits. The characters in this story fascinate me. There is a lot of history that I don’t understand, and I need to get to their backstories.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?

I enjoyed everything I read but I was disappointed that I didn’t get to more books on my plan. We had a lot going on this month, and I believe December will be the same.

Great job, Sharon! I love your participation in the group discussions. This time of the year is always tough, which is why we paused in some of the groups. You did well, though.

FYI, I have the discussion up for Hidden Scars.

Melissa (melissasd) | 1610 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
I got up to date in 3 series:
Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (#29)
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher (#17.2)
Bishop Security series by Debbie Baldwin (#4)
I completed the The Guardians Trilogy by Nora Roberts

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I read Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone (Ernest Cunningham #1) by Benjamin Stevenson which I just found out is book 1 in a series and I will most definitely be continuing it.

3. Did you move forward in any series (that you didn’t complete or finish)? How many?
Nope

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Past Purgatory (Bishop Security #4) by Debbie Baldwin and Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone (Ernest Cunningham #1) by Benjamin Stevenson. Both were great mystery and suspense stories.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I have met my goal to read 60 books this year. I'm still working on my page count, though.

I always find that the end of the year slows down and I read less. It picks up in January. I guess momentum is renewed then.

Well done on getting up to date on so many, Jonetta!
Is this the last Kim Stone book or just the most recent, and more are in the works (I'm currently on #14)?

Thanks, Lauren! It’s just the most recent. Marsons received a new contract from Bookouture so the end is not in sight!

Back to in-person teaching, back to reading reality, right? Still, well done on the series work, Lauren!

I hope you like the Stacey series. I enjoyed it.
